“You know as a pre-teen I was on the move a lot. I mean I was used to moving around by that point – but during the Migration Period – it seemed like everyone was moving. It turns out the collapse of one of the bigger empires has ramifications even as far north as my place. And probably even further north. It was an interesting time since the dynamics of communities were still forming and getting together. And to be a growing person during that time period, well you can imagine how turbulent that might have been.”
