“Yes, yes, I am glad.” Kisses were pressed to their face before he turned to the woods before them. He still held Saima’s hand, though not so closely as he had before, letting them walk alongside him.

“Let us go … It is around here somewhere.” And somewhere it was, a moss and ivy-covered cabin not too terribly far down a stream. The foundation still stood, the cornerstones remained, but the roof and walls had not fared so well with time and neglect. Wood had rotted, stone eroded away, glass windows shattered. Matt’s magic was still present, weak, but permeating from the structure, centuries-old warding and spells intended to preserve this little home.

He could not say he was surprised, but to see and thus to know what had happened to this one place of his – and likely, all other places he protected and managed over the years – did not sit well with the god. An acknowledgment of his own weakened state. Of the passing of time.

“Hmm,” he murmured, grip on Saima slipping, squinting at the building as if this would change the dilapidated state, “Ah, well, let us see what is still here, my love.”

The small kisses were still so appreciated as they prepared to venture out beside him. Strolling with Matt felt peaceful and at ease – a natural part of the journey until they came across a moss and ivy-covered cabin. “It’s so gorgeous.” Although it had clearly gone into decay over the years, there was something precious, absolutely wonderful about the way that it stood standing amongst the changes.

Perhaps there was something about the passage of time that weakened the place, but the fact that it still stood was a miracle to Saima nonetheless. Approaching the place with a subtle sense of awe, they marveled at the place.

“Yes, yes – let’s go to see what is there. It might not be much there but..still. I really, want to see.“

worldgonematt‌:

Matt held them close, pulling Saima even closer to his side before he tugged the both of them off.

Traveling in this manner was second nature to him, an easier, intrinsic magic, movement of particles and being through that which he was most connected with – the ground. It was quick and dark and suffocatingly heavy, until it was not, and their feet hit solid ground once more.

Upon arriving Matt turned his attention first to his lover, making sure they had traveled well beside him, not in need of a rest or some respite before exploring further into the ancient and deep woods they’d settled in.

Before Saima knew it, they were off alongside Matt – moving through the world in such a quick matter. It felt like hardly much had happened at all outside of being pulled so close to Matt, which had been a nice touch. Even if it was more of a safety and staying close thing.

Even the little moments, Saima couldn’t resist finding some pleasure and contentment in. Upon arrival, they stomped their feet a little to reassure themselves that they were back on solid ground.

“Glad we manage to get through that just fine.“

worldgonematt‌:

Matt summoned a staff to his hand, ancient and imbued with magic older than himself, offering Saima his other hand.

“Do not wander far.” He warned, of the style of travel, and of the places they’d go to. He did not know what may happen, and wanted this to be as seamless as possible. No losing his lover. “Stay close.”

Saima accepted Matt’s other hand, all too willing to stay close to him in this adventure.

“I will stay as close as I can to you.“ They knew the importance of staying close to that one was traveling with – especially for what had to be the first time. And so they prepped themselves to move as seamlessly through existence alongside Matt.

worldgonematt‌:

Matt chuckled, cheeks flushed with delight in his lover, in the quaint gentleness of his morning. He wished all of his days could be so good as this one.

“What do you think, my love? Are you ready to go look at some of our options, mm?” It was a bit of a journey, made easier by magic but far nonetheless. “I am certain there will be more food at each, even if it must be foraged.” Something of a challenge.

“I am ready whenever you are.“ Now that Saima was awake and fed a little bit, they were totally able to make the trip to check out the options. Choosing a new place to live was an intense situation, one needed to have some support there.

“It should be fun to check out different places. Well, we’ll just have to see when we get to these places. Surely, something could be arranged.“

worldgonematt‌:

“Yes, yes. We could even build a little hot-house for anything else.” He just wanted to make his lover happy, let them grow what they pleased with no restraint. It was an easy and pure enough desire it only seemed fair to do everything in his power to make it happen.

“Ah, yes … it was unpleasant for everyone.” For Kyeong, for Matt charged to take care of the newly immortal bachelor as he learned his newly given abilities. “But, he is not here my love, and you are.” Pressing a peach-scented kiss to their cheek.

“Even better. Not having to worry about what is necessary to grow whatever we would desire.“ The idea of having a little hot-house seems absolutely wonderful as far as Saima was concerned. It would only encourage them to grow more which could be made into delightful meals.

A nod of understanding. Those sudden changes of circumstances would be overwhelming and even they can’t imagine particularly reacting well to having a human friend become more like them all of a sudden.

“Hm, true enough. I am here – with you. And that’s truly a gift.“ They giggle at the kiss to the cheek before returning a few of their own, humming as they do so.

worldgonematt‌:

“I can make the land suited for most everything, my love, but you are correct, and smart, to keep things for later use.” Matthias, with no real need to eat, didn’t consider such things often.

“Ah, yes … he’s curious. Used to be a human.” But now was not, and having come into this position through a plethora of magic and tragedy.

“Ah, that’s convenient then. That’ll help make the farm be all the more productive for whatever we may choose to grow.“ Having been all too used to strategizing what to plan, having that availability would be so wonderful.

“Used to be a human huh? Wow, I can imagine that must have been quite the experience to go through. “

worldgonematt‌:

“Mm, what shall we grow, my love? Peaches? And wheat, of course, to bake with, and I quite like berries …” Nevermind the fact that the land requirements for these things were vastly different.

“Kyeong is … Mm. Curious. He is young and not formed in the same way we were, all those millennia ago.” Good company nonetheless.

“Peaches, berries.. those would be delightful. Though I’ve always been known to try and grow some vegetables for canning as well.  But it really depends on what the land might be best suited for.“ It was something Saima always took care to consider even if a little magic would probably help with the adjustments.

“Interesting, interesting. I can imagine that’d he have such a different perspective.“

worldgonematt‌:

“I may glamorize for the sake of pleasantry.” He gave a simple shrug, biting into his peach. Matt didn’t mind the pit, eating it as well with no change in pace.

“Well, we can always have guests! A harvest is best when shared.” Smiling, fondly. “My brother, perhaps, he is entertaining, and I am sure we both have friends otherwise.”

“Fair, fair.“ There were times and places where a little bit of glamor was necessary for the sake of staying on track.  Continuing to eat their peach, Saima barely notices the pit.

“True – I’m sure I know plenty of folk who’d stop by to visit for the harvest. And it’d be lovely to meet your brother.“

worldgonematt‌:

“Oh, I don’t know – last time I lasted a few years before they caught me playing with magic and I had to leave. All good fun.” A chuckle left his lips, turning his gaze back to Saima after another bite of his peach. “I think I’d prefer a quieter life with you, though of course we must find ways to enjoy ourselves.” Some fun, every once in a while.

“Heh, that’s real. At least the only thing you had to do was leave.“ Saima gives a little chuckle, although their mind flashbacked to darker incidents when their otherworldly nature had been discovered. A small shake of the head to get out of that visions.

“A quieter life seems ideal. Nothing wrong with some entertainment though. Everyone must have their fun really.“ A few more bites of the peach to ground themselves in the more pleasant present.

worldgonematt‌:

“Everything of my property needs work, my love. Even if we choose to start anew things will need work.”

“Or, I suppose,” and here his eyes caught a glint of mischief, a sly grin growing over his face, “We could just pretend we are human farmhands, and offer help to some cold far off farm, and sleep among the horses.” Still quite an honest life, and one that reeked of how he had spent much of the so called Middle Ages, giggling, playing kind-hearted tricks.

“True. It does seem to come with the territory.“

The hint in Matt’s eyes of mischief – it didn’t go unnoticed, making Saima wonder what exactly he had up his sleeve. “Heh, we could pretend that. Though I wonder how long we could maintain the illusion.”After all, Saima had some ethereal habits now and then that were more challenging to hide from the human eye.

“It’d be fun at the very least.“
