“I’ve looked after young ones a number of times over the years. So I’ve got a little experience here in there – at least in terms of how tiring it can be.”
“It’s definitely worth all the work though, especially when you get to see their smiles and they hold your hand with their tiny lil’ fingers. Weirdly enough, it kind of makes you less tired when you see they’re happy.”
“Well as long as you feel like it’s worth it in the end, that’s all that really matters. It’s not too surprising that seeing their enjoyment can be energizing.”
“It’s definitely easier the more kids you have, but there is still a lot of work to do when you’ve got a baby on the way. There are tons of things you just forget you need.”
“Yeah, I figure it’s a lot of effort each time. And you have all these things that you need to get all over again. No wonder it’s so tiring really.”
“I think I’ll have to start prepping soon though. Last time I turned into such a mess near the end of my pregnancy, and I heard it gets even worse the second time around…”
“Oh dear, in that case – maybe it would be worthwhile to start getting ready soon. You don’t want to be caught unprepared.”
“Oh, it is! I’m having another baby.” She wouldn’t be looking at their clothes in her free time if she wasn’t. “It’s way too soon to be getting clothes though. I’m just a lil’ excited.”
“Ah good to know, congratulations.” It was nice to hear that Rosie seemed so excited at the prospect of another child. “It is a bit soon – but I can understand that urge when it’s such good news.”
“I’m such a mess.” Rosemary shakes her head as she wipes away the tears budding up in her eyes. “Just looking at baby clothes online is making me emotional.”
“Seems like it would be an emotional thing. Hopefully it’s for a good reason though.” Since it was all too easy for Saima to imagine more bittersweet reasons to be emotional at the sight of baby clothes.
