❝Do you have any kids of your own?❞ They look young, but then again so does she. Most people are surprised to hear that she has a son that is almost five years old.
They give a little bit of a nervous laugh. “No, no. Don’t really have any kind of family structure in my life. But I’ve worked with kids before.” Being a tutor, music teacher and other roles had given them plenty of exposure to children. Who seemed to be somewhat fascinated with them – as if they knew that Saima wasn’t your average person.
❝It’s worth it though, and it will be easier once my kids get older. Right now I’ve got a four year old and an one year old at home.❞ Having Xander certainly helps but managing the kids can still be a handful for the two of them at times. After all, both of them require a lot of attention at their age.
“I see. Well as long as you feel that it’s worth it – then that’s all that really matters.”They give a little bit of a sympathetic nod. “I can see how those ages can be a lot. So much attention necessary at those points of growing up.”Children at those ages seemed so vulnerable and susceptible to their surroundings. No wonder they could take up a lot of their parents’ time.
❝I know, it’s just a lil’ harder ‘cause…well, I’ve got kids so most of the time I just throw on whatever I can.❞ It wasn’t as bad when she just had Aristotle, but with two kids running around the house it’s almost impossible for her to spend more than five minutes on her wardrobe.
“That’s totally understandable. From what I hear, many parents are in that exact same position. It’s only fair to prioritize the children over aesthetics when time is short.” If anything, they were even more sympathetic to parents because they knew full well how short the time could be. And parents often had enough to do without worrying too much about their style.
❝If I’m to be honest, I don’t even know most of these people.❞ Rosemary isn’t up to date with pop culture so a majority of the names only vaguely ring a bell. However, some of the magazine does have stuff she enjoys. ❝I do like the fashion parts. It’s always nice to look at designer outfits. Makes me feel a lil’ bad about how I dress though…❞
“That’s fair. I can’t say that such names are familiar to me either.” Although they do follow some pop culture, Saima often feels pretty detached from these kinds of magazines. “I can understand that. Looking at cool outfits can be fun.” They sigh a bit. “Oh you can’t realistically be expected to dress like that all the time, it’s a shame that it might cause that kind of bad feeling about how you dress.”
❝People are so odd.❞ Muses the woman while continuing to read the magazine. Usually she resists the urge to buy it but she ended up picking the pop culture magazine during her trip to the grocery store. It is filled with silly stories of celebrities and advertisements but she found herself curious nonetheless.
“Definitely. It seems like the kind of mess that gets their attention never seems to change. Just comes in different forms.” There had always been a market for such nonsense so Saima couldn’t really begrudge any curiosity about it. Nonetheless, they perused the nearby drinks for something to add to their little things to pick up.
