Phi nodded. Her face wasn’t showing much emotion, but it was clear from her eyes and voice that she was intently paying attention. She could ask about this stranger’s struggle later, but for now, she thought she’d stay on the safe side, and keep the small talk light.
“Where do you do most of your shopping?” Phi asked. “Because I really feel like I’ve been really unlucky with online shopping. You can hardly tell the quality of something by seeing a low-resolution picture, versus actually holding the garment in your hands. I’d like a lot of my money back.”
“Right. I can understand how it’s easy to get unlucky with picking things up online.” They think for a moment about the question before responding. “Honestly, I do a lot of thrifting and visiting local stores because of that same issue. I’d much rather feel the garment in my hand to make sure it’s quality.”
“I do have a few online places I get things from because friends have referred them to me and I’ve tried them out for good results. So one has to be cautious about that.“
“ Why thanks!I mean, this was a lucky find from a few days of thrifting different places. But I do believe it’s an older version of a common design. So it might be online somewhere.” Of course, it was their first impulse to try and see how they could be helpful in having others acquire a look that was nice.
“Thanks again about the skirt. I get how being placed in clothing that doesn’t suit you can make you feel all that much worse. I’ve definitely been through that struggle albeit in a different way.“
