Given direction, Aaron begins walking towards the clothing and shoes. “Of course–places like this are always changing stock to whatever’s supposed to be the newest fashion trend.” Like this, by which they mean relatively high-end. “They’re ordered by size, but makers never agree on which size is really what with the feminine clothing–a 16 in one brand is a 22 in another for the same measurements. Is it that way where you come from, too?”

“Hm, of course. It’s only natural to want to be up to date.”It makes them a little curious about what is currently considered ‘trendy’ or something these days. “Hah, that’s a common problem for sure. While I think it’s somewhat more consistent in my place  – the differences between makers is still there from time to time.”

Once their hair is braided, Aaron leaves it be–at least this way it won’t be going everywhere and getting caught on anything. They pause a few dozen feet into the store, at a very literal crossroads: tiles on the floor indicate the paths to different wares, clothes and shoes neatly organized down one, another leading to cosmetics and jewelry, another to what looked to be home and bath decor.

“Which direction?”

They’ll at least let Saam choose that much. If Aaron gets bored they can wander off on their own, they’d be easy to spot.

At the crossroad of several directions, Saam looks at the different directions before decided which one they wanted to go through. So many options, it was still kind of easy to get caught up in the options. “Hm. I think it’d be cool to head down to the clothes and shows section.” They had a mild curiosity about what was there and maybe from there, they could branch out elsewhere into the store.

An unfortunate thing about the weather is that it changes awfully quickly–bright blue skies start pouring rain at the slightest notion it seems. At least so many businesses make escaping said rain a simple matter.

“It’ll let off soon enough; why don’ we look around?” Something to do instead of standing around and looking out the windows, attempting to wrangle their frizzy hair into a braid. Too bad the rain brought humidity.

Aaron begins to wander into the store, expecting Saam to follow. Truthfully, standing in one spot too long tended to make their back hurt.

Sudden weather changes as troublesome as they seemed, were par for the course as Saam was concerned. So they had to remain ready to open to doing whatever when the weather didn’t really go their way.

“Sounds good to me. “ Saam quietly follows Aaron into the department store, curious about the kind of wares they might have. After all, a nice update could always be useful for Saam.

“It’d be a good way to pass the time. “

Saamuel is rather creative, at least in terms of musical spaces. They often spend free time experimenting with creating songs or doing covers. They also tend to try their hand at just trying to see what kind of new sounds they can get involved with.

Otherwise, they do a solid amount of fiction and poetry writing inspired by some of the more unusual instances in their life. However, it has yet to be seen by anyone outside of local friends that they write with.

“Ain’t that the truth–humans always seem to be fond of exaggeration and fallacy.” To say the least–but that is neither here nor there, and mostly Aaron’s own frustration and exasperation.

Even if Aaron is capable of telling what they are–they know exactly who and what they are–they often choose not to. They never enjoyed speaking of such things very much, simply because their instinct has always been to not say too much, to keep their cards close to their chest. They can work with vagueness and cryptic, that can be useful.

“Hah, yes. They seem to have that attachment to making a tale get as tall as it possibly can. Regardless of how good that is.” Seems like it was a natural trait that humans seemed to share on the whole. It certainly explained a lot of the more drastic actions undertaken through history – often driven by the poewr of belief in a tale of some kind.

“What an interesting topic.” They aren’t the same sort of being as themselves, Aaron doesn’t sense the same divinity in Saam–no, they seem more akin to the other representatives to the deity. And so they suspect Saam wouldn’t quite understand the cause behind their amusement, but it is there nonetheless.

Aaron’s caused some tales of their own, inadvertently or not. It was terribly common for deities to inspire the local lore in one way or another.

“I ‘pose it can be terribly unique–or as unique as humans can create anything.”

“Oh definitely. It’s nice to just learn about the kind of stories that they tell each other over the years. That’s always fascinating. Especially since you just know something had to cause some of those incidents in the first place. Even if they might not have happened exactly as they are described.”

Sometimes Saam wondered if they had ever inadvertently been the cause of some stories in earlier times. There were moments where that felt likely – legends that felt way too close to experiences they had actually had. All a part of being unable to fully articulate what exactly they were even to the self.

“Is that so? What could that be?” Referencing what Saam may have picked up on–leave it to an American to be nosy. But, if Saam misunderstood it to be a question regarding the books, Aaron isn’t likely to correct them.

“Just got to have some nice conversations with people about their history and experiences. Little stories about family tales and lore they picked up as part of traditions.” They always did have a weakness for trying to find out what kind of mythos people in a given region tended to subscribe to or at least somewhat similar tales.

“The weather’s nice enough, I’ll give you that.” There’s quite a few people who’ve been milling about after all, enjoying the weather now that it isn’t very cold any longer. “I assume you’ve been enjoying this wandering, then?”

“Oh definitely. It’s been a lovely time. The weather like this has made it ideal for a nice visit.” It’s not surprising that others might have stopped by to see what was out and about.”Indeed, it’s been a good experience – picked up on a lot. And found some good books to read later.”

By now, such honesty is accepted and near expected from Saam, and so Aaron no longer bats an eye. Instead they nearly coo, the sound more affectionate than condescending. “Ain’t you just the sweetest? You flatter me.”

It seemed much more comfortable to just be honest which was something that Saam was going to relish for the moment. At the coo, they chuckle a bit. “Oh please. I’m just stating my humble opinion.”

The answer pleases them enough, and Aaron smiles in turn. “That’d depend, my dear. Who knows, one of these days I may have to remind you why you seek my company.” Because Aaron is honest enough to know that may not always be the easiest person to get along with, and if Saam were to question it–well, they wouldn’t be the first.

“That’s fair enough. Sometimes such a reminder is necessary.” After all, it only seems natural that there are moments when one questions why. “At the moment though, I’m just pleased to see you again. That is all.” It didn’t seem like too much and was perfectly honest for the sentiment they held.
