“I’m sure our voices will sound great together. It’ll be fun, wonderful even.” It truly was peculiar. Singing automatically when someone else did. It was weird to think about if he continued to think on the subject. It was a relief to know who was causing him to sing randomly. At least now they could try to work out a schedule, rather than worrying about bursting out singing in the middle of a test or during an important interview.
Eliot quickly followed after Saima, walking beside the other. “Yeah, I don’t think being mad is very helpful. Optimism will help us the most. We can easily figure things out if we stay calm.” Eliot certainly didn’t want to think too much on their future. What if people immediately starting asking if they’d get married. God would that be stressful.
“Yeah, sorry. I promise from now on, we can figure out our shower schedule. We can also let each other know about things not to sing during, right?” That’d be nice. Reassurance that he wouldn’t burst out singing when trying to order a pizza. “I am excited to see what the future holds. We can start slow, of course. Do simple things together. Sound good? I don’t think either of us want to rush into things.” There were a few other things he wanted to say, but he’d simply be embarrassed.
“Yeah, I’d like to think so.“ With a little nod, Saima was content to take this situation as it came and adjust to it to the best of their ability. There was no need to try and worry too much since now they knew the source of the random songs and make life a little more organized.
As they walked, Saima kept their hands in the pockets of the jacket they had worn. “True, true. I’m not much of an optimist to be honest, but taking things slowly will probably be the best approach to this situation. I’ve heard about strange it can be to work this whole thing out. It seems like taking things simple is a good way to proceed without too much pressure or anything. So hopefully, this will play out well between us.”
It was a bit embarrassing to have already blushed in front of his soulmate over something like that. He simply couldn’t help himself. Knowing his soulmate liked his voice made Eliot feel so unbelievably happy. Words could not describe simply how happy he felt. “I’m sure I will love it. Duets will simply be so much fun. I cant wait to see how our voices sound together.” This should be interesting. Many things the two could try out, such as finding songs that the two both enjoyed singing.
Eliot made sure to hold the door open for Saima, smiling at the other. “It’s no problem, really. I made you sing in the middle of my audition, it’s the least I could do.” Even though Saima did do the same thing. “I really am happy that I stayed…it was one of the greatest decisions of my life, really. Knowing you would have done the same makes me unbelievably happy.”
Words couldn’t quite describe his emotions at this time. He was so happy, yet also very nervous and worried about how he was going to deal with this. “Should be fun singing now. Since now I know who will sing at the same time as me. I’ll try to make it more convenient…speaking about that, sorry for singing in the shower so much. Hopefully I didn’t wake you up? Since it’s either late at night or early in the morning when I take them.”
“Duets should be pretty fun. Guess that’s one of the good parts about this whole singing soulmate situation.“It still all struck Saima as rather peculiar but it was easier to come around to it when you actually met the person causing all the singing shenanigans.
Walking through the opened door, Saima returned a gentle grin. “..Well, I’m glad that knowledge makes you happy. It seems like making the best of this situation is the thing to do now, isn’t it?” Although the road ahead still seemed a little fuzzy, they figured it was best to take it one part at a time.
“I’ll also try to keep it down a bit. Since I know I’ve started singing from time to time at random moments.I have to admit, I have been awakened from sleep by having to sing because f those shower songs.“Despite being annoying at the time, it was almost humorous to think about in retrospect.

Biting on his lip, he completely retracted his hand. “Sorry, Saima. A piece of your hair was in front of your face. Wanted to move it.” He was a little embarrassed now. “Nothing is wrong, don’t worry. Didn’t want it to block your eyes or well, get into your eyes.”
Their gaze was a little skeptical, wary of those that would try to just move hair just for the sake of it. “..I see. It happens from time to time. Just the risk you take when you have your hair down and don’t tie it back all that often.”

Blue-green eyes gaze back at Eliot as some loose strands are moved out of Saima’s face. With longer hair, comes with dealing with hair in the way – not that they really noticed it all that much. “You need something?” They look up to see what the gesture had been all about in the first place.
Please preface questions with “Truth”
An audition would certainly be an interesting story. Many books existed of people meeting their soulmate romantically in a park while one played the guitar or some other cheesy thing of that sort. Eliot never really was a fan of this sort of thing. It seemed fake to him. This one the other hand was far different from what he ever could have expected. Competing against his soulmate. At least it happened before either of the two went into a proper show. Then it’d be even more of a mess.
All he could do was laugh nervously a bit. This was all so overwhelming. Running a hand through his hair, he finally understood why the other hadn’t confronted him after his own audition. “That’s fine. I’m really glad that I stayed behind though. Super glad.” What if it was all a coincidence? Should they prove it right here? “You’ve gotten your song stuck in my head, that’s for sure. I like the choice. I hope mine didn’t get too bothersome. At least we finally get to hear each other sing, right?” That was the one thing Eliot looked forward to the most.
“Oh uh…we should probably go somewhere else to talk, right?” God, why was it so hard to talk to them? “Sorry about me being such a mess. I wasn’t really prepared mentally for this.”
It all had felt fairly unreal to Saima and they were still having a processing moment about it all. Chances are the implications of this would dawn on them and they would panic a bit. But for now, they were operating off of this delayed reaction to the fact that youth before them was the soulmate that they had been fated for.
“Hm. I appreciate you sticking around afterwards as well. Probably would have been trickier to find out.“ Finding that their song was in Eliot’s head, they chuckled. “Well, that is certainly mutual. But it is nice to hear your voice, it’s a really good one.“
The suggestion of talking about this elsewhere made sense. Besides, the other auditioners would probably be relieved to have these two out of here. “Yeah that is probably a good idea, now that we’re both done. No worries, I wasn’t exactly prepared for this either.”
As the song went on, he could hear the person singing much better…but it couldn’t be real. It just couldn’t. He had to be imagining this sort of situation up. His soulmate auditioning right after him seemed far too unlikely and almost like the kinds of stories people wish would happen. It very well could be the truth. Unfortunately, before Eliot could officially settle on an answer, the song ended and the audition was over.
Taking deep breaths, Eliot tried his hardest to calm himself, hoping that maybe, just maybe, this really was his soulmate. Out of the audition room came the same person from before. Either they too thought about the soulmate situation or they thought he was being rude to listen in on other people auditioning once his had ended. The wave given was certainly reassuring, but now it did mean it was far too late, the person was actually walking towards him.
It only seemed proper that Eliot speak first, considering he was the one staying far later than most people auditioning. “I’m…I’m Eliot. You just auditioned, correct?” God, he was a mess. Finally deciding to just get it over with, he spoke once more. “I’m sorry if you heard me, but I sang during your audition.”
Although the thought of meeting their soulmate all of a sudden did seem rather nerve-wracking, Saima couldn’t help but be mildly amused by the fact that this encounter took place at an audition of all places. The odds of this happening had to be astronomical and yet here it was. Just goes to show the power of a soulmate situation.
“Ah yeah, I did just audition. I’m Saima by the way. “ They kind of smiled sheepishly at Eliot. “It’s fine, I mean I sang during your audition too. I just didn’t have the opportunity to broach before my own turn came.“And they didn’t want to keep the judges waiting, but that was beside the point. Saima found themselves idly fiddling with their hair, an attempt to keep things from being too tense. This discovery was still a big deal, no matter how cool they tried to play it.
The person after him wasted no time to enter the room. Would it be weird for him to stay around for much longer? Most likely so. Why would he stay? He had no true reason to. Yet, he still glanced at the person who was entering the room. What would they be singing? Who were they?
After thinking it over briefly, Eliot decided it was best not to stay. It’d make him feel more nervous about his own audition. With one final glance at the door, he finally made his way outside. Once down the hall and almost to the exist he stopped dead in his tracks. Singing left his mouth. The song his soulmate had been working on.
Pressing his back up against the wall, Eliot tried his best to muffle the sound a bit. It couldn’t be, could it? He could barely hear the other singer over his own voice. Slowly, he began to inch his way towards the audition room, trying his best to listen for the other singer. There was no way this was his soulmate. If it were, they would’ve said something when he left the room. It’s just a coincidence…yet Eliot stayed, moving closer little by little, still singing in sync with his other half.
Once inside the audition room, Saima made their introductions to those people. It was best to get this whole thing over with efficiently and maybe get through to the situation. It didn’t take long for them to start into the song. The song that they were practicing for all this time. Their voice became more present and confident as the song went on. It was important to leave a good impression and it showed in the way that presented.
When the song was done, they thanked the judges before heading outside – only to see the young man who had gone in before them in the hallway. It didn’t seem normal to wait around after a stranger’s performance. Maybe this had to have some kind of meaning. Cautiously, Saima gave a little bit of a wave before approaching the young man. They did remember singing along to the other’s song – maybe the same reaction had happened to him. Saima supposed there was only one way to find out.
As he sang, his mind was far too occupied by the idea of getting it right that he never realized what was going on. Someone outside of the very room he was in had been singing the same song. His damn soulmate was right outside, yet Eliot was completely clueless. While he did know that his soulmate sang a few warm ups, he had only brushed it off. Never once did it cross his mind that his soulmate may actually be in the same building as him.
Soon enough though, his audition had come to an end. With a small bit of confidence, Eliot finally left the room. He had done much better than he thought he would, thankfully. As he left, he gave his final thanks to the judges before closing the door behind him. As he left he couldn’t help but look around at the other people who would soon be entering the room, feeling a small draw towards the area. He couldn’t leave, not yet at least.
Although the concept of singing while your soulmate sang didn’t seem to annoy too many others in the same space, Saima did feel a little bit of embarrassment. And thus was relieved with their future soulmate’s audtion ended. Even if that meant the person would be singing soon afterwards because of their own audition.
Seeing a young man exit the room, Saima gave him a bit of a curious glance before entering for their own turn. After all, it was a little rude to stare and any assumptions might put them in a bad place. It was probably for the best that the Estonian focus on their audition and get that over with. Maybe then, they would discover who their soulmate was meant to be. It seemed to only be a matter of time before the truth came out.
