I’d suggest just writing down thoughts you have about your character even when they’re not the most structured. Like even a list or a couple sentences of info can still be a way to talk about details for your character that might not readily come up in rp.
Has there ever been a time you wanted to quit roleplaying? What made you stay?
Oh yeah, definitely. I’ve deleted a few blogs because of life busyness only to reboot the characters and still be writing them. And I’ve came real close to deleting here too.
But.. I think I just have a real strong attachment to this character. So I was probably going to log in and write some drabbles or little headcanons just for myself if no one else. And in the process I always manage to find folk worth interacting with over the years.

[Alright, here’s the basic platonic vibe first – they’ve had a very, fascinating change in relations over the years from enemies to reluctantly working in the same place to modern day casual associated – like I like the thought of them having a drink together because it’d be fun. And these two kind of like to shittalk each other.
Although – it’ll also be funny to have them shit talk other people. Whoo buddy. The wiseass potential there. I live. It’s a very good and interesting combo since there are layers to how this came about and how that affects the way they interact with each other.
Romanticly – I’m not going to say I don’t have miscellaneous ideas. I can’t say i haven’t been fascinated by seeing some kind of AU where they were previously rivals but with some kind of begrudging respect – end up spending some more time together for a larger purpose and you know shenangans ensue. I feel like it’s a fascinating dynamic – the contrast and surprising similarities just make me think a whole lot.

How this had come to pass was something Saima wasn’t entirely certain they could explain. However, one thing they did know was that they had to get Gilbert from being further agitated by a certain patience-testing individual. It was way too easy for them to see how things could go far, far south.
And desperate times called for desperate measures. Or at least unusual actions. This led to Saima to suddenly pressing a kiss or two to the side of his face if only to get the attention off of the other person.
Just as swiftly as they had kissed him, Saima glanced ahead once more.
“That person wasn’t necessary to take that irritation out on. I at least know, I could handle it without making a deal out of it.”
“While that sounds reasonable, and I don’t blame you, it still sounds very odd that you would go for this kind of question within just a few days into our agreement. I mean-”
“In all honesty, I just needed you to pretend for a day or so, the rest of it is to build up a back up story, but if you are concerned ‘about where things stand’, there is no need to it at all. I can come up with a story about our break up. Everyone believes in a ‘cheating’ story.”
“I understand how it’s pretty odd. Sorry about that.” Once they heard that it was only for a few days to build up a backstory, they had gotten everything that they needed to know.
“Hm yeah, that can easily be believable. A good ‘cheating’ story always did seem to have the desired effect on people. It was a weird nagging thought – I think it’ll pass quite quickly now.”
