“Well, I was found there where this all took place. I don’t have much in the way of memory before that day, but I have always preferred the water to land.” The blond hummed quietly as he let his red eyes drift over the walls around them for a moment, contemplating, thinking about what might be. He always knew he had a thing with water, but what it was exactly had always been a mystery to him.

“I always felt.. terrified of water in some way. Danger yet wonder, unable to keep myself from diving right into that.” He moved a hand to his face to place against his cheek and jaw, lost staring at the cup on the table in front of him. “Maybe I’m just a bit of a masochist..” He chuckles a bit at that.

“Interesting.” The lack of memory of anything prior to that discovery was intriguing to Saima. But it was hard to tell necessary what exactly that could mean for Ivar.

“It draws you despite you being aware of the possible danger there.“ They hum for a bit, thinking over what Ivar had said in total. “Heh- maybe so.  Maybe a certain part of you belongs in the water dspite the fear that comes with it.“

icecoldredfever‌:

“Shit..” Ivar trailed for a moment as he let his eyes wander to the cup to stare at it, seeming to piece together his thoughts for a moment. “I don’t know how to explain it, but.. I went home and I revisited where I was born. Or, where I was found, anyway. It’s a forest reserve now, with a shit ton of lakes and rivers. I was a bit overwhelmed with emotion and something.. I hadn’t felt before. Something compelled me to jump into the ice cold water in winter, and I did.. Like an idiot, I did.” He chuckled a bit to himself, though his stomach didn’t appreciate it, so it was sort lived.

“I can’t explain what happened to me in that water, but it was like I had become something else entirely. Like I was warm and all this weight had lifted off of me. But I was scared. Terrified, like I couldn’t breath. Yet I had been the most at peace with everything that I ever had been..” The expression on his face was definitely confused, hence why he had said he really didn’t get answers, yet he had come to terms with some things from the experience.

Saima listens carefully and maintains patience, knowing that this might be a difficult thing for Ivar to describe. Having to come to terms with one’s true self-was often a process- that they had known from firsthand experience. They raise a curious eyebrow at the mention of Ivar just suddenly jumping into the water- compelled to do so even. There had to be something behind this.

Huh. I wonder if that terror comes from not knowing exactly what was happening. Based on what you describe – you definitely have a connection with the water. It’s almost like – that’s probably from where you first arose in some fashion.

icecoldredfever‌:

“Good, all things considered. Last I told you I was confused about what I was, right? Or was that.. someone else..” He’s questioning himself a lot lately, especially about memories from fairly recent when he was so distraught. But he’d told Saima that, he’s almost certain of that fact. “Well, regardless I am pretty sure I have a few answers. Yet no answers at all, really.” His red eyes open again so he can sit up again, reaching for that tea to give it a few more good sips to try and sooth this stomach sooner.

“Yeah, I remember that. You might have told someone else that as well – but I definitely remember you mentioning this to me.“ It was something that Saima made sure to keep in mind. Since it wasn’t often that they encountered someone who also seemed outside of the perceived representation species.

“Hm a few answers yet no answers. Sounds about right – but what have you found out since then?“

icecoldredfever‌:

“Lucky. I tend to pick shit up easy.” Ivar pouted at nothing, just to himself it seemed. He hated being one to pick things up as easily as he did, but he tended to not be sick for very long, which was an alright trade off, he supposed. “So, how are ya anyway? Like usual it’s been a while. Anything new going on in your life??”

“That’s really annoying.“ A slight sigh in sympathy. Vague memories of illness reminded Saima of how troublesome it was to actually get sick. And so having gone through that more regularly was something they wouldn’t wish on anyone. “Yeah – been on the go as usual. But I performed at a few shows and some close friends came out for that, so that’s cool. I might pick up a new instrument – and I’ve just been helping folks here and there as time allows.“

“Outside the whole illness thing, how’ve you been?“

icecoldredfever‌:

“Thanks.. The tea was a nice sentiment.” Ivar can’t help but smile as he rests his hands over his stomach for a moment, hoping that the tea would actually kick in and soothe his stomach. So far it had not.. but perhaps he just needed to drink more of it. “I’d hate to get ya sick, if that’s even possible.”

“You’re welcome. It might take a bit to kick in – but I’d hope it does help a little bit.“ After all, they’ve seen people go through a couple of cups – but that’s usually in more dire causes.

“Ah. Don’t worry about me. I don’t pick up on anything easily. “

icecoldredfever‌:

“Ugh..” He set the cup down on the coffee table as he leaned back to rest his head against the back of the sofa. “An hour.. Probably somethin’ I ate earlier, honestly. Tha’, or it’s th’ flu.” He sighed loudly, letting his eyes shut as he tried to get a moment of relief in a new position. It wasn’t helping.

“I see. I hope it’s the former since that’s more like to resolve itself earlier.“ Although it was the time of year for the to break out – so the other option isn’t really surprising. “Sorry that you’ve been dealing with this mess.“

icecoldredfever‌:

The swede sits a moment longer, eyeing the cup before he finally reached to take it and almost hummed at the feel of the warmth it radiated. “If ya say so. I’ll believe ya.” He’d had camomile before, a few times, so it wan’t like he didn’t know what to expect, but he still make a bit of a face when he sipped it. “Thanks Saima. Ya make this a little more bearable.”

Although it take a moment, it was nice to see Ivar actually take the cup. If nothing else, accepting the assistance offered was all Saima was looking to see happy. “You’re welcome. I know it’s a pain to have such an upset stomach- how long has it been going on?”

Saima sighs a little bit. “It’s chamomile tea. It’s literally just tea – specifically a kind that’s known for helping settle stomachs. I don’t have any intention of killing you.” It was almost absurd to think that Ivar would legitimately think Saima was interested in killing him. It’d be kind of funny if it wasn’t a bit annoying at the moment.

icecoldredfever:

“That’ll cost ya. But I might let the cost go, since you’re a friend.” Ivar chuckled a bit as he moved to put his phone away once they were finished looking through. He then moved to flop back onto the back and stare up at the pleasantly clear sky. “I’ve missed this nice weather.”

“Well, you know I’m willing to pay if need be.“ If nothing else, Saima was very supportive of their friends skills and would be all too willing to pay for their efforts. Or at the very least offer, even if it would be refused.

Nonetheless, they stretched out a little bit, resting on their arms as they gazed up at the sky. “Me too. Something about seeing the blue sky is truly beautiful.”

icecoldredfever:

“No problem. One second.” Ivar said as he wiggled his phone out of his tight pocket and held his phone up to get a few nice shots of the hair at different angles. Then peeking his phone around to snap a picture of them both, because he totally wasn’t a selfie slut or anything. He smirked, opening the photo’s before handing them the phone.

“Look! Your hair is so good. Everyone’s gonna be jealous of it.. but if they ask where you got it done, totally give them my number. I’ll do it for fifty bucks. They provide the flowers.” He’s joking about the last bit, of course, the grin on his face says it all.

“Cool.“ Saima remained still as Ivar took a few photos and then smiled slightly just in time for Ivar’s selfie of the pair. Looking at the resulting photos, they nodded in approval.

“Oh yeah, this looks really well done. Thanks, I might have to get it done by you for the festivals.” They chuckle at the mention of doing it for money although honestly, it was a solid service during this time of year.
