“It’s nice but also depressing, like what the fuck sunshine?”
“That’s definitely valid. I’ll miss the sun for sure. Although it’s also weird when you do see the sun and it’s still ridiculously cold. Like I’d rather just have the dreariness for the consistency.“
“Something about walking around this time of year, you can just feel the shifts in the air. I don’t know, I find it refreshing even as it gets darker earlier.”
A playful roll of the eyes before Saima responds. It was always kind of funny to hear the ways Vi describes himself. “You sound like an adult Vi, I promise. People sound all kinds of ways. And even if you do have a younger tone – that doesn’t mean that you sound like a twelve-year-old. If anything the issue is with other folks who think that rather than anything in particular about you.”
they hold out their hand to acknowledge the words before turning just slightly so they can heave up the aforementioned stomach bile and various small items. this time it’s a few batteries and a lego, of all things.
“oh, that’s so gross. sorry. my stomach’s a black hole, i think.”
Sometimes, there’s something legitimately intriguing about unusual vomiting. Maybe the questions about what happened beforehand is the reason. And seeing the few batteries and a lego really does get Saima’s attention. Huh.
“Well, weird things end up in stomaches all the time, so I hear. So I can’t really judge too harshly for that.“
“i think it’s in your best interest to stand back unless you want stomach bile and various small items all over your feet.”
With a pause and small grimace, Saima immediately stands back a few steps or so. “Geez, seems like you’ve been having a rough time, tonight huh? Might as well let it out then.”
Matt summoned a staff to his hand, ancient and imbued with magic older than himself, offering Saima his other hand.
“Do not wander far.” He warned, of the style of travel, and of the places they’d go to. He did not know what may happen, and wanted this to be as seamless as possible. No losing his lover. “Stay close.”
Saima accepted Matt’s other hand, all too willing to stay close to him in this adventure.
“I will stay as close as I can to you.“ They knew the importance of staying close to that one was traveling with – especially for what had to be the first time. And so they prepped themselves to move as seamlessly through existence alongside Matt.
“I know he will be.” Muses the proud mother as she admires the picture. Rosemary has known that she is pregnant for the past few months but the ultrasound just made things much more real. “You know, he is already kicking! I can hardly believe it.”
Saima couldn’t help but smile a bit, glad to hear that Rosemary was so proud of the upcoming child already. “Wow, seems like a quite progression – already making himself known to you, how exciting.”
“It’s my motherfucking birthday, biiiiiiiiiitch. I’m…”
“…
Negative eleven years old, technically…”
“…Well, happy birthday nonetheless Phi. Still an occasion to celebrate or uh at least enjoy yourself a bit.” While this whole being negative eleven thing was a bit new, Saima figured it probably had something to do with different timelines and whatnot.
It doesn’t even feel too cold, just refreshing as water slides down the nape of his neck and starts to soak the thin shirt he’s wearing. Even the odd feeling of wet clothes against one’s skin doesn’t bother him in the slightest, the snake simply blinking up at the falling drops with a slight smile.
“Humansss are easssily entertained and impressssed.” He retorts, not to be rude or put down Saima’s opinion but simply stating a very obvious fact. “They wish to have much power but are not resssponsssible enough to handle sssuch giftsss.”
Saima hums for a bit, relishing in the feel of the water. None of it seems to throw them off in any meaningful way. Such is the benefits of being able to control how the water shows up on you.
They laugh a bit at Ayumu’s comment although it is very true. “You’re totally right in saying that. It’d take a few generations of them to even potentially handle a small bit of power. And watching that would be a wild process.”
