“Hallå älskling..” Berwald is of course happy to see them, moving to place another kiss against their temple after their lips have broken apart. He’d missed them, even if it had only been a week he would have missed them.
Saima hums in delight when he places a kiss against their temple. Simple things felt so so sweet, and they couldn’t help but feel so wonderful. “How have you been, dear. I’ve missed your presence so much. ”
They didn’t have time to process and didn’t really care. If Berwald was down for some affection, Saima was all about it. They draped their hands on his shoulders as they were pulled close and returned the kiss with a casual fervor. Letting the feeling of contentment linger before they gazed up at him with a mischief in their eyes.
“Hey there, handsome.“
“…You know, I do worry about being of some trouble to him. It’s something that does pass through my mind. It’s just a side condition of having undergone so many changes in my existence while being around him. I do worry about whether it’s too much. I’m always wary of the potential to be too much for others around me.”
“Alrigh’..” Berwald had to take care of some minor things before he could follow along to bed. One being letting little Hana out to relieve herself. But it wasn’t long before she came waddling her way back in, excited because she knew she was about to cuddle into bed with Saima and Berwald. She really did love here friends that came to visit, especially Saima.
Once in his room, Berwald was careful to lay down relatively slowly since he didn’t want to flop into the bed and disturb Saima. But once he was under the covers he let out a content sigh of what seemed relief. Automatically he moved himself a bit closer, arm moving to carefully drape over Saima’s side. He hesitated less to move closer and touch them this time than in the past, maybe more comfortable with his own actions. Hana finally joined them, snuggling up to Saima’s chest to cuddle in with them. “Comf’rtable..?” His eyes weren’t open anymore, but he was still concerned about their comfort. He hated to just fall asleep on them.. So he tried to remain awake a bit longer.
Saima had started to get cozy but hadn’t fallen asleep quite yet, wanting to make sure that Berwald was in bed before they drifted off. They figured that there were always little minor things the other had to take care of before actually coming to bed. With the feeling of an arm draped over their side, Saima shifted so that they were close to Berwald.
“Yeah, I’m comfortable..“They couldn’t help but chuckle at the feeling of Hana snuggling up to them. “Andd it seems like Hana’s getting all settled too. Hopefully you’re comfortable as well.“
The fact that Saima was understanding about the fact that he wasn’t much of a night owl made him feel less bad about his nodding off.. But he still felt bad regardless. He had been looking forward to spending more time with them, doing something that they enjoyed. But there was always tomorrow, he supposed..
“I c’n make it up t’ ya, tomorrow..?” He released Saima and stretched out a leg before moving to stand himself up slowly. He was a bit stiff, but he would be fine once he was in bed.
“Sure, that’d be fine. I can always wait until tomorrow to see more.“ It hadn’t been a big deal to delay watching more of the show. If there’s one thing that Saima had plenty of – was patience and the ability to delay their own enjoyment for the sake of others. Free from Berwald’s embrace, they got up to stretch a little bit.
It didn’t take long for Saima to head to the bed, although they did pause for Berwald at times. Once in the bedroom, they didn’t hesitate to get into the bed and try to make themselves comfortable.
“Mm..?” Berwald took a moment to regain himself, realizing what was said before he straightened himself some. His arms tightening to hold them a bit closer to himself for a moment as he cleared his throat.
“M’ sorry.. Nej. If ya wanna stay up, we c’n..” He didn’t want to rain on their parade.. He felt bad for dozing off watching something that they enjoyed sharing with him. It felt good to experience something new that Saima liked.. but he was not much of a night owl, often preferring to sleep early and rise early as well. He’d always been that way, but he was trying to make an exception for them.
Even as Berwald regained himself, Saima couldn’t help but hum a bit when they were pulled closer to him. They always did take a comfort in when he held them so close to him.
“I mean, I had been enjoying watching this with you. But I don’t want to keep you up too much longer. You’ve already stayed up a solid amount for me.“ Besides, it felt likely even if Berwald agreed to stay up a little longer, he would just doze off again and maybe it’d be better to be comfortable if he was going to fall asleep.
Sometimes it was easy for Saima to forget how easy it was for Berwald to wind down at earlier times. They had enjoyed his company and was all too willing to share some things they enjoyed with him. But at a certain point, it beame obvious how tired Berwald actually was. Especially when he started to doze off with his hands around Saima.
Feeling this reaction, Saima chose to gently nudge him.”Hey. Want to go lay down?”Even when they were all too able to stay up for who knows how long, they could appreciate getting some good sleep in. And it only seemed appropriate to consider the exhaustion of their beloved.
“Coffee, tea, I have some juices.. Mm.. Don’ know if ya wan’ alcohol, but I have tha’ too.” Berwald wouldn’t mind no matter if the choice was alcohol. It wasn’t like he didn’t drink every night.. but Saima didn’t need to know that bit about him really.
“Coffee works just fine for me.” It tended to be their default casual drink when visiting someone. It was either that or tea when they weren’t really in the mood for alcohol. And it just made sense for them to ask what Berwald actually had available just in case something might have been out at the moment.
“Hello, hope the new year has been treating you well.” The peck on the cheek is welcomed and they return a little kiss in return. It had been beyond time to visit Berwald again so it only seemed fair to start off the year on a nice front. “It’s very nice to see you, too.” Saima smiles warmly as they get comfortable inside the home.
