Help.”

He clarifies with a rough throw of his voice. “A request for help. Why else would you speak to me?”

It’s an honest, if not somewhat rude, question. Why engage with him like this if not to try and acquire his aid?

“Fair. I guess I just wanted to hear what ideas you had.“ Back to the original goal of getting some outside advice on making some changes.

“I mean – also cause I wanted to. But that’s beside the point. I’d like to know what suggestions you had for someone trying to change up things about their writing.“

The question makes them think a bit but they shrug a little bit. “Not really. More of an observation. It’s just a thought I’ve had about things lately.” A slight pause.

“Not even sure what I would request of you. I don’t like being a bother really if it can be avoided.“

stclhjerte:

“Hhm……” Eirik hums in response. He looks down to see that Gry is pushing her muzzle against his leg, and takes a moment to scratch her behind the ears.

He lifts his gaze back to the stranger. “Will you wait for them? The police.”

Saima thinks for a moment before responding. “Suppose so. Might help for them to have someone there just to ask some questions and what not to.” They might not have answers, but they do have some time to be around for this situation – at least until they are actually dismissed. Until then, they figure sticking around is the best option.

stclhjerte:

He parts his mouth to say something, but closes it almost immediately. Eirik is a bit too embarrassed to explain his attempt at teasing.

Instead he takes another drag and turns his gaze back to the lake. The red truck has already sunken far beneath the water, leaving behind only bubbles of air on the surface. Eirik sighs.

“Did you catch the licence plate?”

“I think I only managed to get a bit of it – had K2R as part of it but I think the rest was sinking below what I could see.“ It was annoying to have only a little bit of information that would be useful to the authorities. In a case like this, Saima couldn’t help but feel like maybe it’d be better if they knew they had no information from the jump.

They could only sigh a bit, uncertain what the next steps really should be – outside of reporting it despite limited information.

Sometimes it’s very hard for Saima to process events despite them unfolding before their eyes. A walk to stretch their legs had appeared to taken quite a term.  It was something that they had some struggles with throughout their life. But that was of no matter, now they were just trying to understand what had occurred.

And their best idea was to ask someone who had been at the scene when it happened. Hearing the answer, Saima glances back at the lake.

“Right. I think I was trying to make sure of it. It seemed to happen all so suddenly that it took me off guard, I have to admit.“

stclhjerte:

In all honesty, he really hadn’t. The man had just been strolling through the room when he passed under the precariously tipped trunk. In the seconds he’d noticed it, the object then decided that it was the perfect time to finally topple over.

Lucky for Eirik, it had landed on the floor and not his head. The Norwegian was standing awkwardly to the side, trying not too look Saima directly in the eyes.

“It…..fell.” No kidding

“…Well that’s apparent.“ With a little bit of a sigh, Saima realized that if Eirik was stating the obvious than he clearly didn’t have a clue aout this either. It was one of those strange accidents with no reasonable cause at least none as far as the eye could see.

“Guess all that can be done is to clear this up to the best of the ability.” Saima could tend to the hardwork later, they had their ways of cleaning that up but the least that could bee handled was getting the mess out of the way.

stclhjerte:

“Oh. Fuck.”

Slick as butter, the heavy trunk slid off the top of the dresser and smashed into the floor. Eirik had darted backwards before it could hit him, but Saima’s hardwood home hadn’t exactly escaped unscathed.

Maybe they could overlook the large floor dent and the mess of personal belonging now spilling out of a broken trunk?

That kind of swear was never a good sign and Saima found themselves going to check on what had actually happened.

“Hey what..happened here?”

The sight of the broken trunk on the floor caused them to cringe a bit, even more when they saw some of the hardwood had been damaged in the process. A little concerned, they glanced back at Eirik, hoping that he had an idea of what exactly had just played out moments before.
