“No, it’s kind of nice for a change.” Except for the fact that no one was giving him any affection. “Nice to see there’s no in-fighting for the day. How long can it last?”

“Indeed. A break from the in-fighting is welcomed in whatever form it should choose to take.“ With a little sigh, they just kind of shrug. “Probably not all that long. Which I guess means people should enjoy it while it lasts.“

quietlystrong:

[ He is a sucker for compliments ]

Yeah. It’s cooled down, so I can actually tolerate it.

Right. It’s finally starting to be tolerable weather. The extremes of heat can be way too much to bear.

quietlystrong:

[ he’s laying in the sun, his hair spread around him ]

I feel so pretty. Oh so pretty. I feel pretty and witty and gay. And I pity any guy who isn’t me today~

And pretty you are. Gorgeous day for lounging like that hm?

[Somehow laying in the sun sounds nice so they just kind of join him in the hair spreading.]

I would kill for you. • I would make love to you. • I would fuck you. • I would protect you. • I would hurt you for a selfish cause. • I wish we had more in common. • I want nothing to do with you. • I want to see you cry. • I want a future with you. • I want to destroy your future. • I do not care what you do. • I am indifferent towards you. • I want children with you. • I love you ( platonically ) • I love you ( romantically ) • I love you like family. • You are my family. • I could fall in love with you. • I would lie for you. I would fight by your side. • I will never let you go. • I would hold you while you cried. • I would hug you. • I want to kiss you. • I would stay by your bedside if you were ill. • I want to fall asleep with you in my arms. • I want to forget you. • I will never forget you. • I only want to make you proud. • I wish I could make you happy. • You deserve nothing. • I will never forgive you. • You confuse me.

quietlystrong:

“What’s weird t’ough is just… I t’ought everyone was like t’at?” She frowned uncomfortably, “letting someone…. in like t’at? To let someone in…. you’d ‘ave to know ‘em well, right? To trust ’em not t’ ‘urt you?”

“Right, I can relate honestly. I personally feel pretty similarly. But for a lot of people while they prefer to have an emotional connection, it’s not as required or it doesn’t take nearly as long a lot of the time than someone who might identify as demiromantic. Or maybe people can develop that connection while they are dating versus someone who is demiromantic who needs to develop a familiarity before even thinking abou dating.”

…. She frowned, thinking it over, “well…. a friend’ve mine…. mentioned I might be demiromantic?”

“Ah I see. Well demiromantic is from what I remember a romantic orientation on the aromantic spectrum. Which seems to refer to only developing romantic attraction to someone after building an emotional connection with them first. It’s hard to explain the details of how it works but that is gneerally the impression that I got. “

“Uhm… Estonie?” Babs is holding out her phone, which is open to a tumblr post full of gender identities and romantic and sexual orientations, “Mathieu says you are good wit’ t’is stuff, yes?” A pause. “What are t’ese? N’ what do t’ey mean?”

Saima looks at the phone which shows a familiar image of different identites.

“Please – Saima is fine. But I suppose I would be the one to ask about this sort of stuff. But I am good with it – getting better over time. “They think about the question for a few moments before responding.

“Well, these are a lot of terms that humans have developed to describe themselves in how they relate to others in terms of romantic attraction, sexual orientation and gender identity. It’s a way to express feelings beyond being straight, gay or bisexual – or beyond just being a man or a woman. When people don’t fit easily into those categories, they tend to find other ways to describe themselves. Of course, some of the terms are culture-specific and so should be refrained from use but most are available to whoever feels it’s appropriate.

Are there any of those in particular you want to know about?“

quietlystrong:

“I am not defending myself! I am just… making sure things are well established. Because I, Matthew Jacques Richards, do not have a daddy kink nor am I in denial about said kink! Because I am normal.”

“….Right.“Knowing eyes just seem to glance right through Matthew. “You’ve made your case as to being totally ‘normal’. Whatever that is supposed to mean.“
