[Things that make me happy:
Discovering a good band: Getting into Sons of Kemet – a dope jazz band
Warm drinks. Hot cider and hot chocolate are my life these days.
A good book – I love reading, and checking out good boks give me joy
Working out at the gym during group classes. I love pushing myself with weight training. It’s fun in a way I didn’t think I’d enjoy.
Dancing. I’ll always get down to some tunes given the right situation]
[I’m just thinking a lot about Saima coming to terms with a vastness that felt so foreign to them for so long – yet has been present throughout their entire existence. And so it’s really a whole another coming of age in a sense.
Trying to find ways to surface that in the way that they interact with people that there has been a marked difference lately.
it’s really a number of transformations and becoming more aware of a self so long hidden away and suppressed on multiple levels.
I have a lot of feelings about that and the connections to tricksters in mythology and the way that having a sharp wit about you has such usefulness in especially estonian tales. and i just.. i have a lot of weird rambling thoughts that are nice to consider. ]
✧ WHAT’S YOUR OTP FOR YOUR MUSE?
I… I don’t know if I have one anymore actually. Since I pretty much altered my muse’s background, it’s been challenging to pinpoint one ship above others. Oops.
✧ WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO RP WHEN IT COMES TO SHIPPING?
I’m reasonably flexible with ships, I can do friends with benefits things and full blown relationships. I’m also interested in unrequited things just for the feeling of not being able to pursue anything due to whatever reason.
✧ HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE?
Uh. Saima’s really quite immortal. So it’s more of a physical appearance. I can’t have them comfortably with anyone whose appears to be below 21 or so. Additionally, they’re more likely to have had relationships with longer-lived individuals – has been over the whole trying to make it with a mortal thing work.
✧ ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING?
I suppose I am. Since I’m not really expecting anyone to ship with Saima, it’s really when I encounter a muse who hits it off with them.
✧ WHO ARE OTHER MUSES YOU SHIP YOUR MUSE WITH?
[Shrugs] It depends. I’ve got a really nice thing with @worldgonematt at the moment. And I’ve shipped with other muses in the past but everything’s up in the air.

Yeah, more than likely. Or at least let me know you’re interested. Cause otherwise, I would not know.

Uh. It’s not a huge deal but I do enjoy it when it happens. I like talking about it with people or drawing the muses or whatever.

More advice for folks:
I’d suggest just writing down thoughts you have about your character even when they’re not the most structured. Like even a list or a couple sentences of info can still be a way to talk about details for your character that might not readily come up in rp.
Has there ever been a time you wanted to quit roleplaying? What made you stay?
Oh yeah, definitely. I’ve deleted a few blogs because of life busyness only to reboot the characters and still be writing them. And I’ve came real close to deleting here too.
But.. I think I just have a real strong attachment to this character. So I was probably going to log in and write some drabbles or little headcanons just for myself if no one else. And in the process I always manage to find folk worth interacting with over the years.
New roleplayers?
Honestly? Just focus on what you enjoy about your character. Also be willing to put your character out there just for the hell of it – cause that’s how interactions build.
But really, being there for yourself and your own character will honestly keep you through whatever else might arise. And also experiment with where you want to rp. Maybe it’s not even here. Which is honestly, valid.

It’s been a long, long journey.
Saima has changed a lot. So first they were an APH Estonia muse canon when I first started writing, and they got more and more canon-divergent because I kept making up headcanons that I enjoyed and felt fit into the character really well. Starting to build more of story there.
And I suppose I started making enough of a headcanon and backstory that honestly, I wasn’t really paying much mind to APH canon at all and so I just associated with the concept because they were still a rep.
But I got into estonian mythology and the idea of the kodukaija and so I was figured this would be a really great way to kind of reset where I’d like to go with this character. And so they are more of a mythology inspired character than anything else.
And so they’ve been on this journey to reconnect with their inherent divinity which has been fascinating to write. And of course doing more discovering about their gender (or relative lack thereof) has been a major change over the years – which I ended up tying into their story a lot.
So there’s been a lot of developments, a lot of interactions with people over time that helped create a picture of how Saima came to exist currently. And a lot of ficing and drabbling to shape out potential ideas for what’s going on internally.
