J5 – what brings them the most joy in the world?

What brings Saima the most joy in the world?

I think the sharing of stories, the transmission of memories, of myths, of creations from the past brings them a lot of satisfaction. In song, in performances, in writing, in plays – any form of creation that allows for the transmissions of stories that may otherwise be lost and/or hidden are especially precious to Saima. As are those who are dedicated to making sure that people continue to hear these stories which shaped the way they see the world and their homeland.

“It’s my motherfucking birthday, biiiiiiiiiitch. I’m…”

“…

Negative eleven years old, technically…”

“…Well, happy birthday nonetheless Phi. Still an occasion to celebrate or uh at least enjoy yourself a bit.” While this whole being negative eleven thing was a bit new, Saima figured it probably had something to do with different timelines and whatnot.

😈Worst thing you’ve ever done to your muse?

Worst thing I’ve ever done to my muse.

I’ve had them revisit some really dark memories which may have provoked some real strain and difficult on Saima’s end. I’ve put them through a lot emotionally actually in terms of trying to come to terms of dealing with the self and alienation that had been lurking in their characterization for so long.

⛪ – Is your character religious or spiritual in anyway?

Saima is rather spiritual but in an otherworldly sense. They are certainly one to be aware of the possibility of multiple universes and thus figures that can account for multiple ways of seeing existence. They also have a spiritual connection with nature and with the mystical realm from which they originate. So their whole existence is carrying a sense of the divine into a modern world where there might be more doubt at least among humans.

Phi was glad that they got her, but still, she couldn’t help but be jealous. They were around when Latin was thriving, and she’d never got that opportunity.

“Man…” If she was tipsy, as in right now, it was a lot harder to suppress those feelings of envy. “If I had my Latin dictionary right now, we could actually have a conversation in a better language. But I don’t, so we can’t.”

She let out a sigh. “English is such a dumb language. I’m over it.”

A sip of their drink as they listened to Phi. “If only. ” Saima didn’t particularly miss Latin due to a lot of the memories attached with it. But they could understand the appeal, or at least the envy of not even having the opportunity to grow up speaking it or something.

Saima nods in agreement. “English is an absurd language for sure. A mishmash of loanwords with no sense of planning or anything.”

4: What is your advice to new/upcoming roleplayers?

New roleplayers?

Honestly? Just focus on what you enjoy about your character. Also be willing to put your character out there just for the hell of it – cause that’s how interactions build.

But really, being there for yourself and your own character will honestly keep you through whatever else might arise. And also experiment with where you want to rp. Maybe it’s not even here. Which is honestly, valid.

@seekesotsibteadmist

It’d been ages since they’ve had a drink together like this. It was a great feeling, Phi thought. No worries about getting picked up or preyed upon, no gross interruptions, barely any boring small talk with people who weren’t them. Just intellectual conversation with drink breaks and without Google to back them up, relying on Saima’s incredible experience and her weird memory. Perfect.

“You were actually alive when people spoke Latin as a mother tongue, right?” She set her elbows down on the table. “I’m a little bit jealous. Maybe I’d be better at it if I had people to practice with.”

Nothing like catching up with Phi especially when their idea of the conversation went into entirely different directions. Made Saima appreciate why they liked to spend time with her.

“Yeah I definitely was alive for that. And ended up speaking Latin for a while. I know I still have the ability to do so. ” A nod of sympathizing with Phi’s situation.

“It’s definitely easier to get better at a language when it’s the common language for multiple areas at a time. Versus an obscure thing used for specific purposes these days.“

12: What would they want to be remembered for?

Saima doesn’t really need to be remembered per say.

But if there was one thing they would especially like to be remembered for – it’s being able to be of service to those around them. To be able to be a guiding presence and someone who supported the needs and creative efforts of those in the area.

I suppose they really just want to ensure that there’s a spirit of mythic thinking that passes through traditions over the years.

💭 (Phi)

“Phi’s a pretty interesting individual. Not someone to be messed with but I’ve enjoyed having a few drinks with her. And she’s got some stories to her – and it’s always nice to go into really complicated discussions that might often go over the heads of people who might hear it. It’s fun to have people around that you can talk to in such in-depth ways.

Definitely looking forward to seeing her again.”

Do they have a need for speed? Or do they like to take things slow?

It depends.

A lot of time Saima has been likely to do things fairly quickly for the sake of efficiency and getting things done. And so that is built into the kind of habits that they have on a regular basis.

But if they aren’t actually working or trying to assist someone – they will take pleasure in taking things slow. Since they have so much more time than many they could ever come across, it’s hard for them to rush through more pleasurable experiences.
