“Well it’s nice to finally run into you, Saima. I suppose I’m not home much, only when I’m drawn here – or called,” she added, inclining her head. She reached out, absently laying a hand on the curved top of her gravestone. Dawn lightening the sky with every second, her fingers didn’t sink through. “I think you must have wandered pretty close to my grave…sometimes I feel humans passing but your presence seemed to trigger something…a little stronger.”

“You’re quite welcome to stay, as long as you’re not here to destroy anything…You’re not, are you?” she asked more hesitantly, frowning just a mite. “It’s certainly rare to find people spending their free time in grave yards.”

“Hm, I understand.“ Witnessing the way that Lea’s hand didn’t appear to sink through the gravestone, it was an interesting movement to see. All the more fitting to be with someone in the company of their ‘resting space’ so to speak.

“I promise not to destroy anything. I didn’t have any intentions on destroying this place – it’s all too important to treat it with anything other than respect.“ Despite being a wanderer, Saima knew full well to respect the boundaries of a given place. “Well, I’m not just any person. Not really much of a person at all to be honest with you.” After all, there was a reason that their energy had called to Lea being different from the ordinary human-passing by.

“i think i’m a bit lost. would you mind telling me where this is?” she’s most definitely out of place. this much is clear with the brunette. all these surroundings weren’t of any familiarity, however leto doesn’t think she’s in any danger. “if you don’t mind, of course.”

It wasn’t surprising to encounter someone who had no clue where they were. And that’s what Saima was here for. “No, no I don’t mind at all. You’ve happened to stumble on little ol Tallinn in Estonia. Northern Europe – perhaps a few steps off of where you meant to go?”

“Snert is not suitable for anything, really. Yet there are piles of it in our freezer! Right among my good broths! It just sits there, contaminating them with its green glow!” This may be a subject on which Lilli is passionate. Jan isn’t even here to defend his beloved national dish. “If only you knew what it looks like to have that thing staring at you from the depths of your freezer every time you open it!”

Saima can’t help but chuckle a little bit at Lilli’s passionate distaste for snert. “Oh dear, I suppose that’s what happens when you’re involved with someone enamored of the stuff.” May she survive these encounters. “…I can imagine that is a bit of a horror to have to witness so much of it all the time. A truly year-round scare.”

lilli-of-the-mountain‌:

“We will have to share some this Winter over a bowl. I just had the most charming tomato soup at a bistro that I am quite keen to recreate.” Tomato soup and rye seem perfectly compatible to Lilli. Both have strong flavors which should accompany one another excellently. “Whatever we pick it should not be snert. I could never make it through a bowl of that…mush.”

“Sounds like a plan. I’d love to have the tomato soup with rye. It seems to be a most fitting combination.“ The thought had Saima be inspired to jot this down on their calendar sometime soon. “True. Snert isn’t really suitable to go with bread at all. “

lilli-of-the-mountain‌:

“There is nothing more comforting than the smell of fresh bread. Absolutely nothing. The taste of your rye with a bowl of soup, too…” She salivates at the thought of it. “It is just the perfect thing for a chilly Winter evening.”

“Nothing at all. And it just brings back such memories.“ Baking was a way to honor those who had introduced them to the concept. Those who had made them bring in their earlier days long ago and had done so throughout the years as a way to survive. “It fills you right up that soup and bread combo and keeps you quite satisfied through the evening.“

lilli-of-the-mountain‌:

“Oh, I love your baking.” Lilli nearly groans at the thought of the warm loaves of rye Saima produces from their oven. Or the other darling little delicacies they spoil her with on a regular basis. Such baking will be keenly missed when Lent comes about the following year. “Really, after so many years it would not be Christmas without your treats.”

Saima smiles at Lilli’s comment, always delighted to hear her reaction to their baking. “True, true. I consider it my special way of putting some skills of mine towards the holiday season. The smell of warm bread coming through is absolutely wonderful and one of the reasons I enjoy making it for others.”

lilli-of-the-mountain‌:

“Well…I will not say that my productivity matches his.” Mostly because Lilli spends the time staring while Jan works. “In any case, am I allowed to know some of these special recipes? Or shall they remain a secret?”

“Ah, hm. True. But I’m sure you do something enjoyable nonetheless.“ Even if that is being more uh ‘supportive’ of Jan’s efforts. “Well, the type of recipe you get will remain a secret. But know that they will likely be in the range of varying loaves of bread and baked goods.“

She loved the stars more than anything but they also brought her a sort of longing for a home she could never have. Eve suppressed a sigh and instead turned to walk back to the small blanket and pillows they had set up. She sat back down, rearranging the pillows until she could lie next to her friend. “Do you think it’s impossible, to touch the stars? They always seem to close and so far away.”

Lazing among the setup of blanket and pillows, Saima found themselves comfortable and lost in thought for a bit. It wasn’t until Eve returned to the blankets that they arose out of their reverie. “Impossible? I don’t think so. They do have this weird distance to them but…I think it’s possible to touch them.”

lilli-of-the-mountain‌:

“Oh, I have already begun knitting my Christmas jumpers. And, yes, you are getting one.” It will be the most darling little thing in pale pink with little pearl accents. They will look simply divine in it. “Well, he doesn’t ‘assist’ so much as he takes the chore on by himself. It is very kind of him to do.”

“Delightful to hear. And I’ve started planning out recipes for people.“ Making things was one of their favorite ways to gift folks. “Ah. Understood. It is very kind of him to do so – allows you to get so many other things done in the meantime.“

lilli-of-the-mountain‌:

“Not much, really. Jan and I have been settling in well and we are very eagerly anticipating Christmas.” Lilli already bought a tree, in fact. An artificial tree but a tree all the same. “Let me tell you, having Jan around makes chopping and bringing in wood for the fire so much easier.”

“Hm, I see. I’m sure that’s going to be a truly wonderful part of the year. And I trust you’ll go full force in celebrating as usual.“ Her enthusiasm for Christmas was indeed endearing to Saima and it helped get them more in the seasonal cheer. “Oh, I bet having him assist makes it so much more convenient. Good for you all.“
