✨ GREEK LOVES.

Modern pop culture tends to speak of love as if it were just one thing, but people express love differently. This test will measure your muse’s take on love in relation to the four archetypal forms of love. ( LINK. )

✨ Good Nomos.

All nomos types are organized around DUTY andTHE IMPETUS THAT HUMANS SHOULD CARE FOR ONE ANOTHER IN A CONSCIENTIOUS WAY. Nomos types are forward-thinking and responsible lovers who see our commitment to each other not just as duties ❞ or ❝ obligations, ❞ but as opportunities to deepen our own moral stature and cultivate a sense of belonging as well. Nomos types understand that humanity is a social and cooperative species and that very few things of importance can be accomplished by one person setting out for themselves.

They espouse a level-headed practical wisdom in a non-judgmental manner – one that gives the other person a surer and more sensible perspective on their problems. In this way, good nomos lovers are the quiet enablers of our world; people who, through their own counsel and wisdom, gently empower others to learn and grow as they rise to face the challenges before them. Good nomos lovers are not exacting, BUT REALIZE THAT THEY WILL VERY LIKELY NEVER RECEIVE THE SAME AMOUNT OF SELFLESS ATTENTION FROM OTHERS AS THEY THEMSELVES GIVE.

Do they have any secrets?

Depending on who you are, Saima always carries the secret of who exactly they are. They’ve played a number of roles over the years to cover their actual existence. So they’ve taken on identities, names, jobs, moving constantly to maintain their own individuality and still have people somewhat comfortable in their presence.

Most people can pick up that there is something different about them  but unless you come from a mythical or magical background, the exact nature of it is hard to parse out.  Most humans just figure that there is a sense of whimsy and beyond their years’ awareness that they have.

Only recently have they bothered to be more open about their unique nature in contrast to playing the role in international affairs as a kind of representative in order to serve the land they reside in.

What is their biggest fear? Who have they told this to? Who would they never tell this to? Why?

Saima’s biggest fears have changed over the years. From loss of control, to failure, to feeling utterly useless. These fears have adjusted to the time period where they had been dealing with challenges in.

Currently, they are quite fearful of the country for which they serve coming to lose their sovereignty and freedom. This has probably been the most consistent fear over the years considering how often they’ve had to witness something like this happening.

They tend to keep their fears to very, very close confidants over the years. Usually trusted individuals who share somewhat similar circumstances. They make a point of hiding such fears from those who would be likely to use such fears against them. During some times, Saima was likely to keep all such fears to themselves due to not trusting many people in the least.

Where does your character go when they’re angry?

When upset, Saima desperately wants to get away from civilization at large. If they don’t just flit out of this realm altogether to be as alone as possible – they head towards the forests or towards the sea. They tend to lurk in isolated places away from the stresses of living among others and balance between their true feelings and being considerate of others around them.

Where was your character born? Where have they lived since then? Where do they call home?

Saima was originally created in an alternate dimension several millenia ago. They appeared in the area that came to be known as Estonia towards the beginning of the Pre-Roman Iron Age associated with the development of some sense of collective identities – even if they were regional at the time.

Since then they’ve stayed in Estonia flitting back to their home realm for what could be decades at a time during times where they would have to lay low for significant amounts of time.

Both of these places are considered home for different reasons. The physical land they stay has features that are reflective of their home realm. So in many ways it’s a parallel of their original home. Thus they are incredibly comfortable residing in the boundaries between the two realms and coming and going as they choose.

30 days of character development – 6

What are their strengths and weaknesses? What does the character believe they are?

Weaknesses – they are highly avoidant – and self-isolating. They have been known to be reclusive and are aware of this. They think it is a weakness but they also see it’s value and so can’t really be bothered to do too much about outside of further action to be social. They can be dismissive since they have heard so much of the same things over and over again. It is easy for them to appear like they are not listening – although they are, they’re just comparing things and can get distracted in their own head from time to time.

Saima also has had issues of doubt – probably extending from the fact that they’ve spent so much time pretending to be a number of roles, that trying to find their genuine self is actually an effort for them – nonetheless allowing themselves to express that discovery.

Strengths – incredibly talented and intelligent. Skilled in multiple languages, multiple instruments. Quite strong and fast due to being an entity that can not readily be controlled, can change forms and travel through realms, wields an internal magic and can alter their environments   (tends to use this in tradition oriented ways), amazing storyteller,, good listener, loyal to those that they find comfort in. Resilience and resourceful – always able to find practical and useful suggestions for others problems

30 days of character development – 5

Who are your character’s friends and family? Who do they surround themselves with? Who are the people your character is closest to? Who do they wish he were closest to? What is their relationship like with their family?

Saima’s idea of friends and family has changed vastly over the years. They’ve come to know and befriend a number of humans who they lived with as familial figures for a time. And additionally, in playing roles in international affairs, they’ve made a few associates and lasting bonds although it was made during which Saima had covered up their true self.

Such friends include especially folks from Finland (Jaakko), Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, and more recently individuals like Lilli and Rosemary.

In pursuing a more authentic sense of living – they’ve been encountering other mythical figures out and about and so is especially interested in forming more bonds with such figures. Nonetheless, they’d be likely to befriend whoever seems interested in them and willing to be someone they are comfortable around.

30 days of character development – 4

How do they view themselves? what is their opinion on their own body and sense of style? How vain is your character? Do they find themselves attractive?

Saima’s view of themselves has changed depending on the role that they played. For a while, they preferred not to think about themselves too much at all – looking out only for the sake of the people they were around. They were really more duty focused to a fault as they played different roles of teaching, representation, and spreading lore through the land.

One thing that has been consistent over the years is their knowledge of themselves as a kodukaija, a restless spirit. Because they’ve had to be on the move for so, so long – they know how to adjust to playing varying personas to suit the needs of the time period that their in.

These days though – they’ve been purposely trying to get in touch with their beginnings, with their otherworldly nature and actually enjoying that for all it’s worth. And so they’ve made changes in a way so that they are more confident and comfortable with their presentation and their physical form.

In their true form, Saima finds themselves undefinable in the best possible way since such a spirit deity can’t really be contained easily. In their physical form, Saima hasn’t been so certain how they felt for a while since they’ve felt not quite with the company they keep. But they are now more likely to say they find themselves fairly attractive and be aware of it.

30 days of character development – 3

How does this character dress? How would they choose to dress, if all options were open to them? Do they have any tattoos? What do they mean? Do they have piercings? How many? Is this culturally appropriate for them?

For a long time upon initially taking on a physical form, Saima didn’t really wear much clothing at all. It was only upon encountering humans initially that it occurred that some clothing would be useful. So they had put on a number of appearances and guises in a somewhat androgynous fashion alongside the times. Nonetheless, they played roles that required more masculine appearances for a while – which in combination with hiding their diving nature did take a toll.

These days, they are wearing more comfortable and flowy garments. Although they do like a good button-down. Saima is open with acknowledging that they prefer to wear things with a somewhat feminine cut to suit their figure. So mostly blouses, nice jeans, button downs, flats, shoe boots, crop tops worn under loose sweaters, scarfs, skirts. Anything that registers that not quite here vibe they are going for.

They have worn earrings before and might get back into it every so often. They don’t exactly follow what is culturally appropriate necessarily since they aren’t exactly bounded by cultural rules. Nonetheless, they like keeping their appearance somewhat suitable for when they venture out among people and try to play a subtler role that many might not notice if they weren’t looking.
