nectarine, peach

  • nectarine: would you consider yourself an emotional person?

“I’m barely even a person.

But I guess I do have some feelings that I tend to keep private. I’m pretty withdrawn by nature. I wouldn’t consider myself overly outwardly emotional since that’s just not the way that I am. Still working on expressing myself in a more meaningful way though.”

peach

“Yeah, simple ears piercing and a couple of marking like tattoos on my wrists and collarbone. The less I hold on to my sense of ‘human’, they tend to light up actually – which can be cool to witness.“

Peach and coconut?

  • peach: do you have any piercings or tattoos?

“My ears are pierced. And I have these tattoo-like markings on my wrists – detailing the sun and the moon, one on each side. I also have a few wreath-like trails going across my collarbone and shoulders. “

  • coconut: favorite perfume?

“I don’t think I actually wear much perfume. But I tend to prefer lighter scents that aren’t too overbearing. I could always go for a nice refreshing flora-inspired smell if I had to choose something.“

[miscellaneous things I think about – how much saima has historically restrained themselves in terms of using their strength in terms of not to draw too much attention.

Because if they were to go full deity (I guess) they’d probably be rather strong but because the appearance they’re in is somewhat slight in stature, they’ve purposely downplayed it from time to time.

They’re still probably stronger than an average human while restraining themselves though. so there’s that. -shrug-]

candle light, nightmare.

  • candle light: are you an indecisive person?

Not often. I’ve found myself usually able to make decisions fairly quickly when it comes down to it. But of course, I am the kind of person who would also try to see all kinds of angles depending on the course of action I need to decide on. So I at least try to be thoughtful – even when coming to terms with making a decision.

  • nightmare: what are you most afraid of?

Maybe people not holding on to stories that help them feel their sense of self. I mean.. I’ll likely be around even if that happens. But I would much rather avoid that happening – it’s always a little scary to see people lose connection with the tales that have formed a large part of their culture in one way or another.

Cosmos, sweet dreams, earth

  • cosmos: what’s one thing you wish you could say to someone you are no longer friends with?

“This is a really good question actually. Uh. I guess I wish I could say I missed them and I regret not being able to reveal my full self to them when I had the chance. But now that they’re not around anymore, I shouldn’t dwell on that too much. It’s not worthwhile, really.“

  • sweet dreams: are you happy?

“Relatively speaking yes. I’m happier than I’ve been in quite a bit – and I’m definitely attributing that to getting back to my roots in terms of who I really am and what role fits me best. By stepping back from pretending to fulfill a function, I’ve definitely felt freer and less constrained which is important.“

  • earth: where do you feel most at home?

Liminal spaces where nothing really feels real. But also forests and bogs – natural spaces where I can shed any sense of physicality and take on my true self at least for a few hours at a time. It’s incredibly relaxing to not have to pretend to be anything other than what you are.

I also like being in creative spaces though – when people are working on creating interesting things, that also helps me feel pretty at peace. Since it shows the process of continued mythos-making in the modern era.

1. spends a lot of their time running errands for people around the neighborhood.  It’s a way of performing some kind of service to people and they will even travel out to different cities like Tartu and Parnu to help people. Although they try to refuse payment, Saima has received bread, gifts and various other forms of things in return for that.

2. They have dropped out of this realm multiple times over the years due to not feeling appropriate to try and be in the midst of things. Instead, they lurked in the forests and appeared to people in dreams to try to keep spirits up – if only to use mythos and magic to keep people connected to themselves through especially rough time periods.

3. Even their normal speaking voice is rather singsong and melodic – which suggests that their singing voice is truly otherworldly. It is a multi-octave range that allows them to sing in multiple ranges quite skillfully – although I will have to say they usually hum in a high tenor- counter-tenor range.

4. they have a mechnical gecko that they keep around and a cornsnake that they dote on whenever possible.

5. Saima enjoys sweets and savory food. But they will always go back to rye bread as a staple because they have eaten only that for quite some time. However being a deity of some kind -has actually been able to survive on very little to no food for a long long time. They really only started to enjoy food when they took on a physical form – the minimum of 2000 years ago (so it’s likely before then uwu).

6. Is able to influence the movements of natural environments quite easily. Can alter the way wind blows and serve as a disruptive force to the point where nature behaves in ways that is outside of the ways of physics.

7. has a preference to lurk at liminal spaces no matter where they located. There is a certain comfort in those kinds of spaces where nothing quite seems real. Mostly because in a way – nothing much about Saima feels real either. If found in one of those spaces, Saima is likely to not look as human as possible – so they will look more ethereal and supernatural if detected around there because they can’t be bothered to disguise themselves.

8. saima is a rather calm person although if annoyed, they do have a way of conveying this disapproval through subtle looks or underlying tones in the way that they speak. If the offending person doesn’t stop, their tone sharpens pretty quickly to the point that it feels like their words could cut right through a person.

✨ RATIONALITY

You like clarity and intelligent simplicity and you get frustrated at messy thinking. This can make you seem unreasonably pushy to some, but it is actually a virtue: you are motivated by a horror at pointless effort and a longing for precision and insight into how things and people work. Your ability to synthesise and bring order is essential in producing thinking which is truly helpful.

✨ SHYNESS

Part of you is gripped by the fear that you’ll launch into something and completely mess it up. The upside of this is wise caution: people are indeed often too rash, whereas you know, by instinct, that holding back can save you. Probably, you feel shame and self-disgust a bit too much. But when you do feel in your element, you act with a wisdom and sensitivity never found in people with thicker skins.

✨ RESILIENCE

You have a tendency, after a setback, to turn your emotions towards restriving. What attracts you is the idea of wiping out a humiliation by resumed action – overcoming weakness, repressing your fear. Because part of your motive is pride, you can sometimes be unwilling to admit weakness or to receive aid. But at heart, tour insistence on coming back and never folding has taught you a valuable pessimism: you know that important journeys are never easy.

[Saima definitely serves as an inadvertent patron of creative types. Especially those who make music although it does extend to any kind of creative work as they tend to see it as an extension of myth-making to this day. So they are likely to spend a lot of their time in areas that are conducive to people working on developing new ways of expression as it seems to be one of those interestingly magical spaces in its own way.

This also applies to story-tellers and folklorists – perhaps even more so in their case because of the direct ties to those that originally tried to spread stories of the past.]

Saima’s memories might be less personal during some time periods because they had been dipping out of directly being in this realm. So what they would know is based on what they’d seen – which is a lot vaster perspective than from one who was up in the midst of things.

The running theme is that they’ve definitely played more of an observer role outside of intervening and assisting individuals whenever they could over time.
