“I’d love a nice hard snow for once by Christmas. Hasn’t snowed properly in a while. Lucky you! Alright, take a seat. I’ll grab some mugs. Go sit by the fire and I’ll be right back–

Don’t mind the dogs. They usually mind their own business but sometimes like to annoy guests.”

“Hm, well you’ll never know. Maybe something will pop up with all the strange weather patterns and all.“

Following directions, Saima goes to take a seat by the fire. “Ah it’s fine. I know they seem always to be game for some attention.”

belgisch:

“That is good. You’ve had snow already? Ours is more… slush and ice than actual snow. Such a pity too! It’s so pretty when it does get white out.

Oh sure, sure. It’s been an eventful season. Tree cutting, hunting, baking, a lot! Would you like a cup of cider or something?”

“Oh yeah, there’s definitely snow on the ground back home. Makes for a very picturesque vision. Slush and ice can’t really compare to dhtat. Although I guess it all ends up being slushing towards the later part of winter.

Looks like you’ve been up to a lot, very nice. Baking is always fun around this time of the year. Some cider sounds delightful, thanks.“

“Eh, Bondjou! Cmint daloz? How are you? Christmas season treating you well?”

“Hello, hello. I’ve been well enough, thanks. The season has been treating my nicely. There’s something about seeing people getting involved with traditions and activity that warms my hidden and easily suppressed heart.

Hopefully, things have been going well for you too.“

charcoal, ink

Charcoal – on a scale of one to ten how would you rate your survival skills?

“I’d say at least 7-8. I’ve got a way of surviving things that by all common sense, I really shouldn’t have. There have been multiple attempts to eliminate me completely and I survived that – so I think I’m pretty decent at this. And I’m good at being able to make the most of my surroundings.”

Ink – write your autobiography in one sentence

“Always trying to do better and improve – despite the past’s attempts to keep me from doing so.”

belgisch:

“Jan’s a good guy. Mostly. Do you know someone like that? Fond of em but not /fond/ of em?”

“Hah mostly. I get what you mean though. Right – I guess it’s like me and Jaakko, Finland. Care for him like nothing else cause he’s my best friend but couldn’t say I’m into him you know? ” Although some decades ago, that might have been a bit of a different story not that Saam cares to admit it.

belgisch:

“That’s the spirit! Besides, I know too much and prefer French to Dutch so it works out!”

“Hah yeah. I can only imagine knowing entirely too much makes a huge difference.”

belgisch:

“What? Jan isn’t my type. I’m more of the female persuasion nowadays. Not that he’s not handsome?”

“That’s totally fair. I mean nothing wrong with having different preferences.”
