“I..I guess the later 1990s were one of the periods that I felt most content. I had gotten my independence back, I was changing in ways that boosted the prospects of my people, there was just so much room for opportunity. Booms always seem to feel weirdly energizing despite knowing full well that there has to be an end to it.
In spite of that…I feel pretty content now as well. I do recognize the need for growth and the strange and worrying times that we’re in. But I’ve been really content to be myself in facing some personal changes that I needed to address a long time ago. But better late than never, I suppose.“
I like seeing internalized characters express themselves in monologues or in certain interactions. I like hidden thoughts coming to surface even if it is in throwaway things that the character might think people would miss. Little moments that imply so much more about a character than one gets credit for is really nice to see.
It took me ages to figure out how they work; I didn’t realize there were instructions until a while later. Originally, I would just hold the book and stare at it with different- uh, strengths of vision? Until it worked. Then one day I landed on the instructions page, by some miracle.
Hah, I can understand how that happens. I’ve had the same happen to me as well. I guess it’s good that you figured it out at some point – even if it took a while to get there.
Honestly, I think my attachment to my character is the main thing keeping me here. Because I’ve seen the same things over and over to the point that I am damn tired. and I just.. I have a lot to say but I don’t say it because at this point, I really can not be bothered. And honestly, I am only comfortable saying certain things to certain people because… I’m really, really cautious around most people here really. And i’m a pretty quiet person by nature.
So I’m just here to hang out, write my character and chat with people I feel comfortable with.
[one beat pause] Huh, yeah, nice. That works, haven’t heard it before but it definitely makes sense. I first came up with time, and another answer I’ve gotten was birthdays. Even oxygen.
I guess that’s the thing about riddles, they can easily have multiple answers depending on how you interpret it. Because all of those actually work for it as well.
