During Soviet time, no matter what authorities did at the end of the Song Festival, they couldn’t stop Estonians singing “Mu isamaa on minu arm” because once 30 000 people start to sing at once – you can not silence them.

“Aw, that is cute! You know, I always wanted to get the kids lil’ matching outfits. Figure I should do it now while they still don’t think it’s embarrassing, you know?”

“There is something quite endearing about the matching outfits.  Seems like a good idea to at least try and make the most out of it while you can.”

“A good set of pearls can take you anywhere in any social situation I have found. It is quite like the idea of a good tailored suit.” Everyone could use something like that in their fashion repertoire.

Lilli tops off her mug and pours a mug of tea for Saima, pulling a jar of honey to the table with them. As this one is an unexpected extra, it’s all right to use it in Lilli’s opinion. “I think it will go with the look you are hoping to achieve as well.”

“Hm, I can understand that all too well. It has a timelessness that can transfer among different environments quite wonderfully.“ They could see the appeal in having such a classic piece among their wardrobe.

A nod of agreement. “I think so as well. I’ve been doing my best to fit into a look that feels very much like the self I’ve thought about for a while.”

“Perfect, come on,” she stood up and stepped off the roof, the ground having shot up to create steps for her to get down.

“I have bottles of alcohol and I think they are calling our names,” she grinned, mood up as she beckoned for Saima to follow her inside.

“As you wish.“ Saima soon got up to follow her off the roof, quickly moving down to the ground.

“Sounds like a recipe for quite the evening.“ They returned a bright smile as they followed Coatlicue inside.

Setau didn’t often get to chat with others about such things– he surely had a few friends but not many were as passionate as he about book culture. Even those at work were rather sick of reading as all they did all day was write, reread, edit and repeat. “I feel that everyone should read. And read a lot. You’re only exposing yourself to new ideas with every book– imagine where we would all be as a people if we accepted and embraced new ideas more?”

Although Saima knew many who were reasonably fond of reading, it still wasn’t the same since talking about it was a whole another deal. “I tend to agree with you. I think it wouldn’t hurt to read a lot. But I think also being critical of what you read is incredibly important – to be able to sift out what is relevant and what shouldn’t be.”

traumeriin‌:

“Right? I’d totally wear this.” Chirps the dreamer as she shows off the rabbit eared hoodie. She thinks clothes for adults could use some more colors and other fun additions. “Did anything catch your eye yet?”

“Yeah – that seems like it would be fun to wear.” Glancing around they pick out a cool striped shirt with multiple colors. “This is a kind of cool little top here.”

Lilli leaves her post by the stove to peer at Saima’s phone, oohing and ahhing over the pictures she sees. They really do have a keen and wholly unique sense of fashion. It is far more bold than she would ever think to dress, that is for certain.

“Oh, Saima, they look simply divine! Even with casual dress!” In lieu of kissing their cheek, Lilli gives them an affectionate pat on the shoulder before tending to a whistling kettle. “Have you worn them out, yet?”

Saima smiles at Lilli’s reactions to the photos. It’s always nice to see her enthusiasm over little efforts to have a good time with fashion.

“Indeed, I was struck how easy it was to just..slide into them. I feel like it’s surprisingly suitable for a wide variety of outfits. Which is especially appealing.“ They hum at the small pat on the shoulder. “I haven’t yet but I’ll be correcting that soon enough, I know.“

“I may glamorize for the sake of pleasantry.” He gave a simple shrug, biting into his peach. Matt didn’t mind the pit, eating it as well with no change in pace.

“Well, we can always have guests! A harvest is best when shared.” Smiling, fondly. “My brother, perhaps, he is entertaining, and I am sure we both have friends otherwise.”

“Fair, fair.“ There were times and places where a little bit of glamor was necessary for the sake of staying on track.  Continuing to eat their peach, Saima barely notices the pit.

“True – I’m sure I know plenty of folk who’d stop by to visit for the harvest. And it’d be lovely to meet your brother.“

One didn’t live as long as Idris did without picking up a few things, even if he was certain there was still much for him to learn. Unfortunately, there were some hard things in life still left to decipher– such as why the universe would allow children to suffer. Why do parents leave their children alone in the world? Why does loneliness sting so bad?

“I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, that there is already a set course in my life, your life, all lives– but it feels like an unfitting response to what happened to you and those like you.”

There was a point to be had about everything happening for a reason. Sometimes the reasons may not be easily understood by anyone, but.. they were often there in the background.“It’s likely that there is some truth to that – since it does have a way of shaping people’s lives in the way it was meant to go. Although it’s unfortunately – not terribly comforting either even as realistic as it is. But I guess, I’m just thankful enough to have survived nonetheless.“
