“Well, I was found there where this all took place. I don’t have much in the way of memory before that day, but I have always preferred the water to land.” The blond hummed quietly as he let his red eyes drift over the walls around them for a moment, contemplating, thinking about what might be. He always knew he had a thing with water, but what it was exactly had always been a mystery to him.
“I always felt.. terrified of water in some way. Danger yet wonder, unable to keep myself from diving right into that.” He moved a hand to his face to place against his cheek and jaw, lost staring at the cup on the table in front of him. “Maybe I’m just a bit of a masochist..” He chuckles a bit at that.
“Interesting.” The lack of memory of anything prior to that discovery was intriguing to Saima. But it was hard to tell necessary what exactly that could mean for Ivar.
“It draws you despite you being aware of the possible danger there.“ They hum for a bit, thinking over what Ivar had said in total. “Heh- maybe so. Maybe a certain part of you belongs in the water dspite the fear that comes with it.“
Sometimes when they look out the window, it’s not the outside world that Saima sees. Albeit not the outside world most experience. On drearier days, on days where they have certain needs they make a different kind of window – and glance back to their origins for a while.
It’s a little practice that allows them to feel bounded. Allows them a comfort and serves them in of the bridging role that they ultimately live despite all the changes it seems to come with.
The sheer view of such super-charged magic was often enough to satisfy the urges that they have from day to day. But othertimes, they would just disappear through the window for a little while – to roam at home – without anyone being the wiser.
Strolling back through the personal portal, they shrink the size of the ‘window’ behind them – just enough to have a bit of view for a little while longer. It takes some time to get back to their regular tasks, even if it seems like no time has passed at all.
“Why are Nerds called Nerds?” Eve’s brows furrow while she carefully inspects the small container of candy. “What about this is nerdy? A more accurate name would be…I dunno, colorful candy rocks!”
Saima also stares at the little box for a moments. “Honestly? I have no idea. Whoever named this had weird ideas. Colorful candy rocks would be more accurate…although I guess not much for marketing though.”
“Oh, good to know!’ She knew enough about tech to get by, but anything beyond some slight Photoshop skills completely went over her head.
Listening intently, Erzsi tilts her head trying to imagine the feeling. It seemed to be so much different than ruling. It would be after all since the people are there to see the show. “It sounds like an absolutely amazing feeling. I am so happy you get to experience it.”
“Uh hm, really interesting stuff depending on what you’re trying to use the video for.“ The more you learn from getting involved with media work, Saima supposes.
“Yeah. I’ve been able to perform for people a number of times over the years. But getting back into the habit of doing live shows has been amazing for me really.“ Saima couldn’t help but feel like they got to share a self that they had kept hidden for far too long through performance.
“Sounds good to me. It also gets me out of work early, which I am not going to complain about.” Here she chuckles, adding the time to the calendar reminder. There! Now she would remember!
“It really is. I don’t think if we were on “normal” time that we would have reconciled. But, I guess that is one good thing about being whatever we are; we have time. Which is a double-edged sword. I guess you have to take the good and the bad even when the bad is absolutely maddening.”
“Hah, fair enough. Nothing wrong like being able to end the day a little earlier.“ It was something that Saima could always appreciate. At least they liked it before their schedule changed to be much more flexible these days.
“True. I guess having more time allows more chances to process and potentially change your feelings about someone. It’s ..incredible how that can happen given the space to do so – even if that turns out to be a frustrating situation.“
“ You are curious over how I occupy my time ? Well, color me surprised over this bizarre summons … very well. What will you give me in exchange for my answer ? ”
“Indeed. Curiosity can surely drive someone to some bizarre things, no? Well, I do have fresh bread, pomegranates, jasmine, some silver and rare artifacts from ages ago associated with night time that you might appreciate. Figure I’d keep a selection of things depending on what may actually suit you.”
