She chuckled, “Well I thank you for being so considerate on both counts. Though I think my husband deserves most of the credit for what you see here at court, he’s tended it much longer than I have.”
“You’re very welcome. Although that may be the case. I don’t have the pleasure of interacting with him at the moment. So your presence here has certainly its benefits. I’d like to know – what have you come to enjoy about the court in your experience?”
enki often preformed at bars and other places who were willing to let her and the boys preform. hell, it was usually really fun when they got to. she always was tied to music ( being what she is ) and always found her heart racing when she sang in front of a crowd. so after doing a performance, she was fairly ampted up as she headed to the bar to get a few drinks for herself and the boys. grinning from ear to ear, she looked beside her to another rather .. attractive person. so what else was she gonna do but flirt with them ? with a grin on her face, enki asked for her drinks before looking fully at the other.
“ haven’ seen you around here before, which is very unlucky for me. ”
Performances were some of Saima’s favorite places to hang out, they just relished the chance to hang out. This situation had been especially enjoyable – something about the energy of the singer had drawn them in. At the end of the show, they maintained their space at the bar when the singer had caught their attention.
Smiling back slyly, they gave a little laugh. “Heh. Well I just heard there was a performance here – with you singing, seems like I was very lucky to be able to catch that.”
“I don’t think that American culture spreading overseas are that incidentally, per se – Within the massive influence of Hollywood everywhere, it surprises me it was such slow influence, even.”
“Mm. And the dogs are particularly found of tumbling the pumpkins around and playing with them so it is a win-win situation.”
“Fair, fair. There aren’t many coincidences when some places have such massive industries to push imagery worldwide. “
“Ah – that has to be especially nice to witness. Seeing the dogs play with the pumpkins seems to make the whole thing even more enjoyable. “
“You would know this more than anyone I should think,” Lilli reminds Saima with a nod to their more developed sense of self and style. They were a vision, as always, seeming to be something ethereal masquerading as human. Sometimes Lilli wonders if that is how they always appear to humans or if it is just them.
“Indeed. One could even say I know this from experience.“ A knowing smile they give in response. Nothing like being able to go through things firsthand and testify to the process. Something about having that kind of perpetually changing feeling that resonates with them.
“It is baby steps, yes? Just small little things. One has to experiment with one’s life and have fun with it.” Lilli cannot imagine living her life in one set comfort zone. Yes, she is about following rules but she also supports pushing boundaries as much as the rules allow.
“Of course. Baby steps are key. Even small things could be enough to inspire more exploration. Or at least you say you gave it a go.“ Saima was all too willing to try things – it seems like trying things and going somewhere new was at the root of what they valued.
“We’ll see how it works. It usually works with getting him to eat, though almost nothing else does.” But that was not her dirty laundry to air. “I wouldn’t put him in anything he wasn’t comfortable with, ultimately. If I get him something, I want him to actually want to wear it.”
“Hm, fair enough. All you can do is try it.“ A small nod of understanding. “Obviously, you’d prefer to find something that would work for him as well. It makes sense to like to see a gift of clothing being worn at some point.“
“I cannot make him but I can try to at least force him to wear one jewel tone for the sake of his poor sister’s happiness.” Lilli was just as good at delivering Catholic guilt as she was at feeling it.
“I guess. Good luck with trying that out.“ Somehow guilt felt more like a repulsive than a motivating tactic, but that was just Saima’s experiences coming through there.
