“ yeah– you’ll be the first person I call. ” he’s joking; realistically, if he turns into a vampire, there’s a long list of numbers to go through; he’ll get to Saima when he’s done yelling unintelligibly into the phone, freaking out.
“ yup. plus, for me? whenever I scry, it’s like… whatever I see is totally up to interpretation. so you might think one thing’s gonna happen, and then something totally different does. you freak out, thinking this thing’s inevitable and fated and all that– and it turns out it was never even supposed to happen at all. you know what I mean? the future’s not as OBVIOUS as people think it is. at least, not with hydromancy…you can NEVER get a clear answer from water; it’s always gotta be stupidly mysterious… ” the most ANNOYING of all his powers, by far. obnoxiously, one of the most highly sought after, too. everybody has burning questions they want answered; and sometimes he lacks the luxury to wave them off to someone else. he rolls his eyes, clearly annoyed with whatever supernatural force was controlling water divining. “ every time I do it, I gotta add a ‘results not guaranteed’ disclaimer. ”
“ so, what about you? ‘any cool powers come with your… um… mythical stuff? ”
Saima just chuckles a bit in response to the joke, knowing full well that there are likely others he would turn to in the immediate aftermath. It would be strange for them to expect otherwise.
“Hm, right at least with the open to interpretation it allows for multiple possibilities happening. It’s troublesome but it’s more akin to how existence tends to be.“ The future was often much more in the air so any reading would have to incorporate that. “But I get how that’s incredibly annoying when you just want to give someone an answer to their questions.“ Such warnings about things to be determined can make people feel like the attempt to ask was kind of pointless.
“Oh yeah definitely. I can move from place to place near instantaneously, I have control over nature. I tend to inspire creativity among musicians, storytellers – being a pretty gifted creative sort myself. I’m much stronger than I let on and can change my form when I tend to feel like it. “
“Are you wandering aimlessly, or do you have a purpose?”
They do suppose that ‘wandering’ has a connotation of being aimless, otherwise it would be ‘traveling,’ would it not? Azrael, themselves, is a traveler. They never rest, moving from place to place, wherever prayers call for their presence.
‘I do, in fact, have a purpose. I embody the mythos and folklore of my homeland- so I end up supporting creativity and nature wherever I go. Originally though, I ended up traveling because, at my core, I have a restlessness that can only be satisfied through travel.” Such was the case of being both otherworldly and hopelessly prone to movement. “So a bit of column a, column b to be honest.”
They say your name used to be a synonym for the sea, harsh and lovely and unforgiving. You’ve been long since forgotten, o mother of monsters, o queen of the deep, alone in the cracks and crevices of the cold, rough seabed while other, newer gods tread on your waters. You’ve been long since forgotten, o merciless […]
The waves lap at your feet and the wind blows through your bones as the sea-bed sways under your steps. The howling of the wolves is a symphony you’ve become desperate to forget. They said it was a compromise and instead it was a hostage situation that spanned centuries and as they pressed the knife […]
“That’s so incredibly true. To the point it’s ridiculous. I guess it’s kind of amusing a lot of the time to see what lengths they will go to see if it’s possible. Of course, on the flipside, they will go to quite terrible ends for the sake of it. They won’t turn that tendency off no matter how self-destructive it is.” That’s humans for you.
“Only in our dreams are we free. The rest of the time we need wages.”
“The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people
will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.”
“Some humans would do anything to see if it was possible to do it.”
“Stories of imagination tend to upset those without one.”
“Style. That’s what people remember.”

“It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.”
“What is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?”
“Don’t think of it as dying, just think of it as leaving early to avoid the rush.”
“No! Please! I’ll tell you whatever you want to know!”
“The enemy isn’t men, or women, it’s bloody stupid people and no one has the right to be stupid.”
“Oh, you’d like something simpler?”
“And what would humans be without love?”
“Even if it’s not your fault, it’s your responsibility.”
“You have to start out learning to believe the little lies.”
“They’re not the same at all!”
“It would seem that you have no useful skill or talent whatsoever.”
“I’d rather be a rising ape than a falling angel.”
“Just erotic. Nothing kinky. It’s the difference between using a feather and using a chicken.”
“Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.”
“All gods are bastards!”
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow
your star… You’ll still get beaten by people who spent their time
working hard and learning things and weren’t so lazy.”

“This I choose to do. If there is a price, this I choose to pay.
If it is my death, then I choose to die. Where this takes me, there I
choose to go. I choose. This I choose to do.”
“When in doubt, choose to live.”
“Of course I’m sane, when trees start talking to me, I don’t talk back.”
