Ayumu watches, still completely enthralled by Saima’s gestures and even more impressed as what was a light mist in the air became fat raindrops that bounced off his head. He clearly didn’t mind getting soaked, not moving an inch as the rain beats down on him; in fact he looks so content as his hair starts to cling to his forehead.

“I do not have much power assside…being better than humansss and being able to change my form…if I had powersss like yoursss, I would never ceassse to ussse them.” No doubt for silly reasons, to show off and to further ward humans off the beach.

The feeling of the cool raindrops falling on their head refreshes Saima. There’s something about being among the falling water that is, in fact, quite soothing to the point where they don’t regret the demonstration at all.

“Hm, fair enough. But I think there’s definitely a lot of power in being able to change your form. So many humans wish they could do that but don’t have that option at all.“

“estonia? oh dear, that doesn’t help me much at all.” it’s all a bit overwhelming, however leto is trying to not let it show. after all, it’s not like it would help. “i was looking for my son.” she sounds a bit disappointed with not being in the right place. sometimes directions could be so difficult. especially with unfamiliar places. “i guess you could say I’m a few steps off.

The response makes it clear that this was not where the lady needed to be at all. Saima gives a little bit of a sympathetic sigh, already knowing how terribly lost she might be. “Looking for your son huh – who is he and when’s the last time that you saw him. I can’t say he definitely passed through here – but who knows where he might have gotten off to.”

If they other assumed he’d drop everything and rush to his vehicle he was mistaken, Clyde had other work to do. Like everyone else, the soul before him and had to wait the turn and the young mechanid  had no issues making them, or anyone else for that matter do so. Clyde operated on his own time, and when things we’re convenient for him. Gone somewhat were those days of patience on his part and the will to cater to others. It was sad but it was also just the way of the wind.

Time had been passing but Saima also knew that from glancing out a bit, that there were other cars. It only took looking out the office window to realize that there had been other efforts in front of them. Expectations thoroughly put back into check, they returned to their book. It seemed like Clyde would get to it when he got to it.

Rosemary smiles as she places the stitching down on the coffee table. “Do you want to see the ultrasound pictures? He kinda looks like lasagna right now, but I still adore him.”

“Sure, I’ll check out the ultrasounds. Hah – isn’t that how it usually starts – not looking anything much like a human. But growing over time.” Ah the miracles of pregnancy still kind of intrigued Saima in a way.

I don’t DO fancy galas. But with the right personI guess it could be fun. Claire sips her drink, ah. She hated fancy wine. So her face twist and she shudders, “ Do you….want the rest of this? I think I’d rather drink WATER. “

“Understandable, it’s really the matter of the company that makes such things bearable.” It was a lesson Saima had to learn the hard way over the years. “Sure, I’ll finish that off for you. Rather not go to waste if you’re not enjoying it.”

“What do you think?” Rosemary smiles as she shows off her cross-stitching. In the center is a picture of a basil with the name Timothy Basil Fox above it. “It’s for the baby. Did I tell you? We’re having a boy.”

Saima studies Rosemary’s handiwork, nodding as they are impressed by the creation. “Nice work. It’s really well-done. Oh, a boy huh? Well, that should be fun, congratulations.”

“ How very interesting of you to ask.Hades is admittedly intrigued by this query, as it is one he has never received before – and when he says never he means it. More often than not, gods and mortals are more inclined to express fear to Hades rather than to ask him about his occupation.  I always find Dia de Muertos to be one of the more respectful tributes to the dead, as it honors and celebrates those who have passed rather than, well, attending a funeral and shrugging it off a week later, Hades replies. “ Although, the Ancient Egyptian methods of handling the dead is one I always found fascinating it certainly ensures the individual isn’t going to be buried alive by accident.

“Ah, that’s very understandable. Something about maintaining and honoring the lives of those who passed fully makes it feel so much more complete. The latter can definitely feel like giving someone their due way too late for it to matter much.” Despite seeing different rituals, Saima knew well about the ways people would leave out foods and items for their ancestors – always leaving room at the table for them during this time.

“True. And I’ve always found the fear of being buried alive – interesting. Like it is so easy for burial rites to go wrong – so doing a truly thorough job of prepping the body. It takes a lot of dedication which is respectable in its own right.“

“ yeahwell, some of us are trying to make it better… an entity having millennia of experience is a little hard to argue with about the human experience; they’ve pretty much seen it all. but he still thinks humans can, and do, improve. and besides, age wasn’t everything! the old could be just as stubborn and blind as the youth, in some ways. maybe… you just have a hard time seeing it that way. I think anyone would get cynical after awhile, you know… ?  he tries to consider what it would be like to be around for so long, but he can’t even imagine. there are moments that he feels jealousy towards those with unlimited time on Earth, and no mortality to worry about, but other times… ? well, he’s not sure what to think…

   do you get bored”

It was almost amusing to see since this kind of way of defending the human race. Despite their exhaustion with the cycles, Saima did have a fondness in the way they continued to stick around to look after folks. “Trust, I never said no one was trying to make it better. It’s just.. how humans are. Many try in the face of great failure while many try to get over others. It’s nothing new – but it’s always interesting. There’s usually a hint of progress to look forward to, if nothing else.”

“Ah yeah. Long lives tend to lean towards a bit of exhaustion. And frankly, I’ve encountered many much more cynical than myself. So.. it’s really hard to say. Bored? Of course, tired? even more so. It is a bit annoying knowing that you don’t know if you’ll ever get some real rest.“

“You should make it rain.” Ayumu clearly has no qualms about messing with the natural order of things when it suited his fancy. Sure, he’ll be the first to gripe about leaving nature as nature intended but when nature decided to make it a few degrees warmer outside his comfort zone, all bets were off.

“Where isss the fun in having sssuch abilitiesss if you do not get to ussse them?” He questions, much like a child.

“…Probably wouldn’t be the worst thing to do.“ After giving it a small bit of thought, Saima says another small spell – with a twist of their hands, they summon rain to come to the area. The moisture now translating into actual raindrops falling on them.

“Oh, I do get to use them. And I’ve had a hell of a time playing pranks on people doing so. But I don’t know – I guess I do have personal preferences as to when I use them.“
